What is the skin conductivity response?
The skin conductivity response, also known as the electrodermal response, is the phenomenon that the skin momentarily becomes a better conductor ofelectricity when either external or internal stimuli occur that are physiologically arousing. Arousal is a broad term referring to overall activation, and is widely considered to be one of the two main dimensions of an emotional response. Measuring arousal is therefore not the same as measuring emotion, but is an important component of it.
When was the skin conductivity response first discovered?
Nobody knows exactly when it was discovered, but the empirical study of electrical changes in human skin was described more than 100 years ago by Vigouroux and by Fere. See similar questions...

Wedding invitation wording, wedding invitations, Wedding FAQ...A response card is a card that is included with each invitation and is a means for each guest to accept or decline the invitation to the wedding. Traditionally in formal weddings a hand written note from the invited guest indicated the response to an invitation. However, today it is very acceptable to include a response card with your invitation so that the guest is not required to respond with a hand written note. See similar questions...
What is "conductivity data" and "micromhos"?
Frequently Asked QuestionsThe network includes two instruments to remotely measure the water's conductivity -- the ability of water to pass an electrical current. Conductivity is one way to determine the quality of the water. It is an indirect measure of the water's salinity. Higher conductivity readings can come from inorganic dissolved solids such as chloride, sulfate, sodium and calcium. See similar questions...
What is the cause of conductivity drift?
FAQs General OceanographicConductivity cells drift primarily as a function of cell fouling. There are several sources of the fouling: Biological growth is the primary source of cell fouling. Rinsing the conductivity cell with clean de-ionized water after each cast helps prevent most growth in the cell. If the cell is not rinsed, or standard tap water is used, growth rates can be severe. As the cell fouls, it will drift towards lower salinity values. Surface oil slicks also cause cell fouling. See similar questions...

Which conductivity standard should I use for calibration?
Healthy Water, Healthy PeopleChoose a standard that has a conductivity that is similar to the conductivity of your samples. If you do not know what the approximate conductivity of your samples will be, start with the 1000 uS/cm standard. If you find that your samples have a much higher or lower conductivity than this standard, choose a standard with a different conductivity for future calibrations. See similar questions...
