If you have Norton Firewall installed on your computer, the Printer Friendly link returns an error. Temporarily disable the firewall (this should be simple - just click the Norton Firewall icon on your taskbar, click disable, then confirm that you wish to turn off Norton Firewall). Once the firewall is disabled, return to the page that you want to print, click the link to the printer friendly version, and it should quickly appear. Print the page, and then re-enable Norton Firewall.

In all likelihood, the link is fine (or was fine when it was sent). In most cases, an email client is sending the wrong URL to the browser or download application. Some email clients garble the URL when they try to interpret plain text email (which is what we send) and create clickable hyperlinks. To see if this is the case, try to download the software.

When you click on the "Map" link you get by default the graphic map. There will be a pointer showing either the location of the town where the property is situated or the exact position of the property.(A caption above the map will give more information on the position of the pointer). When you use the printer friendly version, the banner, links, and table colors do not display. Use your browser's print function to print the page.

M2Z's filter will operate at the network level and block sites based on their domain names. It is a superior solution to software based systems that require parents to act as IT administrators and are also easy to manipulate and circumvent. People who subscribe to the premium service will establish their age and identity and therefore, can turn off the filter if they wish. No filter is perfect, but a network level filter is superior because it does not live on the user's PC.

The "Mac Friendly" option will encode 8-bit characters into 7-bit safe escapes. This seemed to help some of the early versions of the Machintosh web browsers under OS 7 and earlier. This option helped insure that letters did not disappear or turn into garbage. Don't use it unless you have to! The articles you view become larger and take longer to download.

The library has a color printer, located at the Circulation Desk. To print a page or document in color, choose Color Pay at CircDesk from the computer's print menu. Get the last three digits from your workstation's label. Go to the Circulation Desk to pick up and pay for your pages. The cost is 50 cents per page. Color printing is also available in the GAPS Lab, located in the Andersen Computer Lab on the first floor of the building. The library does not have a color copier.

Is there a space, #, ?, or other special character in the path or filename? Spaces are not legal in URLs. If you encode the space by replacing it with %20, your link will work. You can encode any character in a URL as % plus the two-digit hex value of the character. (Hex digits A-F can be in upper or lower case.) According to the specification, only alphanumerics and the special characters -_.!*'() never need to be encoded.

Firstly, try the link again, sometimes that does the trick. Also, some freebies do not work properly in Mozilla Firefox, so try it again in Internet Explorer. If it still doesn't work - go back to the freebie description, and click on Report Broken. This will let us know it needs looking into so we can fix it, or remove it.
