Your Military Science credits will count toward your total hours for graduation, but will not take the place of any required courses. They do consider Military Science Courses as electives though. You will also be granted up to 50% of your health/fitness requirement through completion of ROTC.

There is not now and has never been a state-suggested pacing guide for mathematics. Collaborative creation of such a guide by experienced teachers is an excellent staff development activity that not only draws upon the expertise of teachers but also serves as an affirmation of their experience. Yes, the subject matter must be pertinent to the Health and Fitness industry. You will receive 10 NSPA CEC's for a 4-credit college course and 7 NSPA CEC's for a 3-credit college course. We may need to ask for proof you took the class.

There are no set deadlines for application. We operate on a rolling admissions basis. We recommend submitting all materials required for admission at least 30 days prior to the start date for the term you wish to begin. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow for the best scheduling options, since some course sections may close out if registering late.

a. Yes! CWA/NETT Academy courses are taught through our education partner, Stanly Community College (SCC), in North Carolina. SCC is accredited to award Associate degrees by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. If you opt to take courses for college credit (they do cost more), they will be recognized in most U.S. institutions of higher learning. If you opt for continuing education credit, most CWA employers recognize CWA/NETT Academy training.

We have a fully equipped science lab for our Biology, Physics, and Chemistry courses. The lab is furnished with individual counters with running water, microscopes, Bunsen burners, and other tools.

Yes, for Vanderbilt students grades and credits are counted towards graduation. For visiting/transient students, transfer of credits and grades are determined by the home institution.

With careful planning and advising from your academic advisor, you can make normal progress toward graduation. It is important to speak with your academic advisor because the application of credits earned abroad toward major or graduation requirements depends upon departmental criteria.

A large number of our graduates continue on to the top graduate school in the US (for example: Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Michigan, Penn State, Stanford, UC Berkeley). Others accept positions with companies such as AT&T, Bechtel Bettis, Dupont, ExxonMobil, Ford, GE, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Lucent Technologies or government agencies such as the Naval Research Lab and the US Patent Office. Still others enter medical school, law school, obtain MBAs, and/or start their own companies.

High school students are required to successfully complete at least three courses for Career Prep and College Tech Prep Courses of Study and at least four courses for the College/University Prep Course of Study.

Allied hours are hours that are outside of your major, but that relate to your major. Both of our majors accept any classes in the Social and Behavioral Sciences as allied hours as long as they do not double count as general education requirements. FCS classes that don’t count for your major will count for allied hours. Other classes outside the Social and Behavioral Sciences may also count as allied hours, but they are major specific. Check with the advisor for details.
