Can these meters also be used with gases other than N2?

Flow meter, mass flow controller, mass flow meter, flowmeter...
All Sierra flow meters are calibrated with N2 unless otherwise specified. The reason is the “K-Factor” for other gases is nearly linear when one goes from N2 to almost any other gas. Other gases scale the signal and generate a slight offset. For each type of gas, this effect can be calculated and compensated by using a relatively simple "K-Factor".

Can these meters be used with flammable gases?

Flow meter, mass flow controller, mass flow meter, flowmeter...
Sierra mass flow systems without the FM approval are not designed for use in hazardous or explosive environments. Do not confuse a “hazardous environment” with flowing gas inside a closed system, such as your plumbing, into pressure and flow measuring instruments. Customers regularly use the 800 series flow meters with flammable gases such as CH4, C2H6, C3H8, and H2 that is plumbed in accordance with proper safety measures.

Can these meters be used in pulsating flow conditions?

Flow meter, mass flow controller, mass flow meter, flowmeter...
The Sierra flow meters are regularly used in these conditions without noticeable problems. This is because the design of the flow meter is such that conditioning elements within the flow meter virtually eliminate the sensitivity to such pulsations. Many other flow technologies, such as "Delta Pressure" devices suffer from sensitivity to pulsations because the flow is not conditioned prior to measurement.

What are gases?

FAQ Air chemistry and physics
All chemical elements can be found in several different states (phases). One of these phases is the gaseous phase. Apart from gaseous an element can also be solid or liquid. Water is called ice when it is solid, it is wet when it is liquid, and when it is gaseous it exists merely as gas or steam. When temperatures rise, the molecules of a substance part, causing the substance to become gaseous and less visible. This phase change causes air to be invisible.

What are the Hours/Days during which the parking meters are to be used?

Office of Research Services (ORS) - Attendant_Assited Parkin...
gt; The hours of operation for metered parking spaces is 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. Likewise, the attendant assisted lots are in operation from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. gt; Currently, contractor staff visiting the campus will be required to park in the visitor lots and pay the general rates ($2/hr or $12/day). If the ICDs wish to, they can purchase validation stamps for their visitors by calling 1-888-NIH-PARK.

How accurate are peak flow meters?

Frequently Asked Questions
When used correctly, peak flow meters are excellent tools that reflect the state of the child's asthma - but you need to treat the device with respect. Keep it clean, use it as directed, check it frequently for damage, and it will give accurate measurements. However, remember that symptoms are just as important as numbers. In some cases, children can get a good peak flow "score" even when they are having symptoms. If that's the case, make a note of the numbers and talk to your doctor.

What prevents the CO2 gases from leaving the atmosphere?

Frequently Asked Questions
CO2 is building up from oil, coal, and gas burning faster than can be taken up by the oceans, forests and soils, whose capacity to absorb it, is steadily being reduced by human actions. The effects will take hundreds to thousands of years to be fully felt even if we used no more fossil fuels starting now.

What are greenhouse gases?

Buying Paper Products Online ? Business Cards, Letterhead &a...
Any gasses that get trapped in the earth's atmosphere and add to climate warming are called greenhouse gases. The most obvious one is carbon dioxide. It is one measure of energy and resources to produce paper and other materials.

Is there any danger from gases?

I-Strip offers a unique and affordable paint removal system ...
You should always protect you and your employees from unwanted fumes or dust when removing paint. It is more important to use a respirator for indoor applications, as there is less air exchange inside than outside. It is important to note that at the low operating temperature of 100 to 200 degrees c no plumbic (LEAD) gas is produced as this only occurs at temperatures in excess of 325 degrees.

Why use dry nitrogen gas (N2)?

FAQ's :: Accumulators.com
Shop air has oxygen and when exposed to petroleum based fluids or grease, can diesel (explode) under pressure. Pure oxygen is even more volatile. Other gases are expensive, corrosive or explosive. There are several grades of nitrogen gas available. For use in bladder accumulators, we recommend Commercial/Industrial Grade. This is the most common grade available and the most cost effective. It has been used with bladder accumulators for over 50 years. The average purity is 99.5%.

Why are UV meters useful?

Innovations :: UV Index Meter Frequently Asked Questions
It measures the intensity of the ultraviolet light anytime, anywhere! The decreasing quality of the ozone layer can increase exposure to damaging ultraviolet rays. These rays have been linked to sunburns, skin cancer, cataracts, and immune system dysfunction. The UV HAWK™ quickly and easily tests the UV index and indicates the level of protection you need before being exposed to prolonged sunlight.

How does Sierra calibrate mass flow meters?

Flow meter, mass flow controller, mass flow meter, flowmeter...
Every single 800 Series Sierra Flow meter is calibrated on a Primary Standard. Sierra does NOT use transfer standards. We can not stress how beneficial this is to YOU as the end user! The reason nobody else calibrates EVERY meter on a Primary Standards because the cost to calibrate Flow Meters with Primary Standards is IMMENSE however it is TRULY the ONLY way any company manufacturing Mass Flow Meters with accuracies of 1% or better could justifiably make such claims of accuracy.
