The National Gardening Association has provided an answer to deterring wasps. You can also use our Poison-Free? Wasp and Hornet Killer. It works two ways. 1) Spray any wasps that you see. The spray will kill on contact. 2) In the evening, or when activity is low, thoroughly drench the nest with our Poison-Free Wasy and Hornet Killer. The scent will repel wasps and keep them from returning to the nest. Continue to spray and kill any wasps you see. Wait one day.

Use an aerosol "bee and wasp" spray; the kind typically found in most lawn & garden centers or retail stores. Spray the chemical directly into the entrance hole during the evening hours, when all adults are most likely inside. If you're spraying overhead, protect yourself from any chemical mists that drift down toward you. If you need to use a ladder to reach the nest, be extremely careful. If at all possible remove the nest. If the wasp nest is discovered in the early stages of construction there will only be a few wasps on it making eviction less hazardous. Using A. roseicollis as an example, some individuals reason that it takes 10 days to complete a nest, but it can take even less timeif the pair is experienced and is ready to start breeding. Powder coating is justifiably superior to wet spray in so many ways. If your part is capable of being powder coated, there is really no reason why you would be compelled to choose otherwise. It's generally less expensive because the process is quicker. Powder coating is not subject to the extra time it takes to set up and break down from a wet spray project.
