In the satin and gloss finishes which are commonly used on woodwork, oil enamels traditionally exhibited a richness, touch and leveling ability which was unmatched by waterborne paints. However, with the introduction of Eco, many professional painters and designers believe they have discovered an odorless, waterborne alkyd, which can be used interchangeably with traditional Hollandlac oil enamels.

Buttercream frosting is put on cakes with a pallet knife and other decorating tools. The frosting is thick and the weight pulls against the cake layers. When there are 2 fresh fruit fillings the cake is taller than usual and the layers begin to crumble as the cake is being iced. Whipped cream is put on the cake with a decorators bag and is therefore does not damage the cake layers.

Details CC has a variety of Stains available. A Stain is applied to wood to darken it, or change the color without hiding grain or texture. A Glaze is a smooth, glossy and fairly transparent coating applied to wood that highlights the surface that shines through it. A Ghosted finish has a whitish-tint to it, especially visible within the routing. Even whiter is a Frosted finish, which has a pale sheen.

Exposure of the SIMPLY BRILLIANT™ coating to water before it has hardened can DULL the surface (through emulsification and loss of some initially oily gloss enhancers) but it is STILL waterproof (beading water). The wax certainly has NOT been washed off, and the gelcoat is still protected! Procedures detailed in our "Online Instruction Book" will prevent slow setting of the Superwax.
