The hotter the filament the more efficient the lamp. The upper limit to filament temperature is the boiling point of tungsten. High pressure (around 100 PSI!) gas filling raises the boiling point. This allows a higher filament temperature, greater visible light output and increased efficiency.

Miniature high pressure gas filled lamps have much shorter thicker filaments than vacuum lamps. Short, thick wires are much stronger than the long thin filaments typical of vacuum lamps.

Metal Halide lamps should be changed at least every 6 to 12 months if you're burning them 18 hours per day. High Pressure Sodium bulbs, burned at 12 hours per day, will last between 6 months and a year and a half depending on the bulb.

High pressure beds allow for a deeper, darker tan. Thereby, increasing the longevity of your tan. The high pressure bed will also build up your base tan faster. Once your base tan is developed, continual tanning in a high pressure bed would require less frequent trips to the salon. Which is a great time saver for that busy on-the-go tanner.

Your heart pumps blood through a network of arteries, veins, and capillaries. The moving blood pushes against the arterial walls, and this force is measured as blood pressure. High blood pressure results from the tightening of very small arteries (arterioles) that regulate the blood flow through your body. As these arterioles tighten (or constrict), your heart has to work harder to pump blood through the smaller space, and the pressure inside the vessels grows.

Low pressure is 1 – 10 psi and does not need an external air supply source. Airsleds use a self-regulating blower that automatically adjusts to increases in weight. The system is contained and portable. High pressure is over 10 psi, needs an external air supply source and an air regulator.

In most cases, doctors can't point to the exact cause.
