All freshmen will meet a set number of study hours. Every semester following the first semester of the freshman year, the number of hours will be based on the student's GPA. Each unit requires an average of eight hours self-study per week. Study Periods 1 and 2 run for a period of twenty weeks and Study Period 3 for ten weeks. For the purpose of determining how much time off work to allow for people undertaking the program, our educational consultants advise that the eight hours of self study can be considered equivalent to four hours of lectures plus four hours of self study.

Permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week. IVC ENFORCES ALL PARKING (i.e., posted time zones, red curbs, handicapped spaces, etc.) YES, but only in student lots. However, we encourage you to begin displaying your permit on the first day. On the first day of the third week, permit parking enforcement is fully activated during each full semester, and on the first day of the second week of the first Summer Session.

It is recommended that you should probably allocate about 3 hours per subject per week. Some people with a background in accounting may need to spend less time, other people with no relevant background may need to devote more time.

The CEP rule requires 15 PDH (Professional Development Hours) per year. At least one PDH must be in the area of professional ethics, roles and responsibilities of professional engineering, or review of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Board Rules. (back to top)

To figure out the number of contact hours, multiply the number of units by 1.2. Therefore, a 6 ceu course is equal to 7.2 contact hours; a 10 ceu course equals 12 contact hours, etc. Approved providers may offer Independent or home study courses. There is no limit to the number of contact hours that can be completed through independent or home study courses.

a general guide our full time students normally have an average of 20 hours per week 'contact time' (i.e. taught sessions) spread over three days. You will also be expected to complete further hours of independent study. Some of this study requires you to be in College using facilities and resources or project work with other students.

About 35-40 hours per week in term time of which about 12-16 are contact hours. As our courses are demanding and are unashamedly aimed at able students, applicants are advised to consider the workload of our degrees as that for a full-time job.

Teaching times are usually 9.30am - 12.30pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm. There are usually some periods of private study each week, but some days will be full teaching days. There are also lunchtime seminars and early evening seminars, which are optional, but students are encouraged to attend. Most students will find that they need to complete their reading in their own time outside School hours.

All courses are timetabled and students are required by immigration regulations to attend at least 15 hours per week as a full time student. Our courses are designed generally for 16 hours per week on average, which is inclusive of classroom teaching and tutorials. Some courses e.g. Computer Studies require students to undertake practical work, which adds additional hours for the individual student concerned.

About 2 hours per week, depending upon many factors: How quickly your student types, if they need to read every single link in each lesson in order to understand key concepts, and how dedicated they are at staying on-task and getting their work completed in a timely fashion. The average number of hours is 2. The good news is that students are able to break apart those hours however they please across the course of a week.

Each one semester high school course earns one-half a credit and students should plan on spending 90 minutes per day per class.

Campus Quiet Hours are 10pm ? 10am, any exceptions may be posted by Residence Halls (during exam weeks or based on the requests or a majority of Residents to encourage a study atmosphere in the residence living areas. Study rooms are available in each Residence Area, with student access to a PC.

The breakdown of study hours information indicates the total number of tutor contact hours for that year, and the division of hours between theory, skills and other course activities. The BoSH information does not constitute confirmation of attendance or pass, nor is it a certificate of achievement. Only certificates awarded by the awarding body constitute proof of pass or achievement.

Ans. All Master's degrees require 36 SH credits, except the Master of Theological Studies which requires 60 SH credits.

Ans. A total of no less than 54 credits are required beyond a 36 SH Master's degree. It is suggested that the student who is desiring to earn a doctoral degree, enroll for a second Master's degree and allow those credits to apply toward the doctoral degree. Once this is done, the student would like only an additional 24 credits for the doctoral degree.
