You can file a claim by calling 1-888-313-7284, or over the Internet at http://www.pa.gov (click on "Online Services" at the top of the screen and select "Unemployment Compensation" from the list). If you do not have access to a telephone or the Internet, PA CareerLink Carbon County has a telephone you can use that offers a direct line to the Unemployment Compensation Call Center for filing your claim. If you do not live in Nevada, you must contact the Employment Service agency in your state for filing instructions. To receive UI compensation, you must file a claim at your local state unemployment office. File as soon as possible after unemployment begins, since you will not receive benefits until all the paperwork is processed and eligibility for benefits is verified. You should also take the following documents to the unemployment office to help in verifying your eligibility: social security card, recent pay stubs, and any document showing the reason for the job loss.

Generally, there is a 2 year statute of limitations for filing workers compensation cases. However, there are several exemptions and you need to consult a qualified attorney as to what those exemptions are.

Kansas law requires that you notify your employer of an injury within 10 days of the accident. There are some exceptions to this rule. In addition, the law requires that you serve written notice on the employer that you are entitled to receive Workers' Compensation benefits because of your injury. You are required to report any gross wages earned from employment, beginning on Sunday through Saturday of the week being claimed. The Federal-State unemployment insurance system pays benefits to eligible workers who are unemployed and looking for work. If you are determined to be the most recent employer, as defined by law, you will be mailed a questionnaire as soon as the claim is filed. The questionnaire will have specific questions to be answered regarding the reason for separation. You will be advised when the written information must be submitted, and you may be contacted by telephone if additional facts are required.

Eligible persons may file a claim against the Fund by submitting an APPLICATION FOR TORT VICTIMS' COMPENSATION. It is against the law to fire an injured worker or to harass an injured worker for filing a workers' compensation claim.
