For one, Outlook, like most email applications is not designed for sending highly stylized emails or large volumes. Most email applications will subtly alter your email code and introduce technical artifacts that could adversely effect your email design. Unless you fully test your email in all email applications, you're at risk of delivering a poorly formatted email. Secondly, your email application, and your company's email servers, were likely not intended for sending mass quantities of email.

You can compose HTML emails using your usual HTML editor, e.g. FrontPage, Netscape Composer. To get you started in preparing HTML emails we recommend you use Netscape Composer (part of Netscape). Outlook Express has a Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus option at Tools | Options | Security . If this option is enabled, Outlook Express will disallow you to access any attachment that may potentially be a virus, for example, a file with an .exe or .scr extension. If you want to paste raw HTML code you will either need to switch your email format to plain text or if you are using an email program that lets you switch to HTML code edit mode (View->Source Edit in Outlook Express) you can switch it, paste your code, and then send it. Under X-windows, use your mouse. Highlight the text to be copied, switch to the location where you want to copy it, and press the middle mouse button to paste. This works nice and fast, as long as during the switching you do not deselect the original text. If your mouse has only two buttons (no middle button) use "both buttons together" or perhaps the right button (which combination works depends on your setup).
