I began contemplating and designing aspects of it as early as 1990. The first real work I had done (my first tattoo sessions) came 4 years later in 1994 after much consideration and design work.

The United States Congress created the Veterans History Project in 2000. The authorizing legislation (Public Law 106-380), sponsored by Representatives Ron Kind, Amo Houghton, and Steny Hoyer in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senators Max Cleland and Chuck Hagel in the U.S. Senate, received unanimous support and was signed into law by President William Jefferson Clinton on October 27, 2000.

The inventors of Golden Rice are Ingo Potrykus, Professor emeritus of the Institute for Plant Sciences, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH, Zurich), and Professor Peter Beyer, of the Centre for Applied Biosciences, University of Freiburg, Germany with co-workers (Ye et al 2002). The search for a Golden Rice started off as a Rockefeller Foundation inititative in 1982. After years of research by various research groups a meeting of experts was convened in New York in 1992.

In fall 1999, Jose-Marie Griffiths, University Chief Information Officer (CIO) initiated a project to develop a Web environment that would present personalized information, services, and resources to University audiences. Current project team members come from Information Technology Central Services (ITCS). Consultants from Apple Computer, Inc. have also worked on the project.

We started this project to provide an Ubuntu based free software distribution without non-free binary blobs in the kernel. Neither Debian nor Ubuntu are fully free. Ubuntu installs non-free software by default. Debian provides non-free software through its repositories and includes non-free kernel drivers. See 1 2

Linspire has been a long-time supporter of many open source projects, such as: Debian, Mozilla/Firefox, Nvu, Lsongs, Lphoto, libipod, ReiserFS, GAIM, KDE, KDE-look, Kopete, K3B, and so on. Work that goes into Debian, Ubuntu, Freespire, and so on, all finds its way into our commercial Linspire product line.

For Census 2000 the Census Bureau included overseas counts in the census using definitions and procedures similar to those used in 1990. U. The project started in 2006. The first 6 months were spent investigating various RFID technologies in order to identify those that best suited our needs. We were looking for an RFID reader and tags that could be used to track people and their belongings in everyday environments. For example, we wanted our system to be able to track tags embedded in participants' textbooks, backpacks, or cell phones while they walked through the Allen Center.

We first had the idea for producing Web page templates to complement our Web clipart (then called ButtonKits) way back in 1997. We started out with Space, Homebase and Stripes, and they proved to be a big hit. We've never looked back!

He also may have been the first to decide that AI was best researched by programming computers rather than by building machines.
