Mt. McKinley, in Denali National Park, is the tallest peak in North America at 20,320 ft. Mt. McKinley includes two separate peaks; South Peak 20,320 feet and North Peak 19,470 feet. Mt. McKinley rises 18,000 feet above the surrounding area, greater than Mt. Everest which begins on a 14,000 foot plateau. Denali is so large it creates it's own weather pattern, and many times the highest peak will be covered in clouds-as in the picture I took above. Mt. McKinley was named after a U.S.

The more time you spend inside the park, the better your chances of seeing "the mountain" known as "Denali" or "the high one." The entire mountain is visible only a few days each summer, however you may be fortunate enough to get a view of Denali or some of the other mountains and glaciers of the Alaska range during your stay. Quite literally right bang on the 5ft 8 mark, just touching it in the evening...give or take 1mm. In any photo I have with a celebrity I am pretty much right around that mark, sometimes 1mm over, sometimes 1mm under 5ft 8. Yes, the Exel can accomodate tall people, thanks to the shape of its straight canopy, which gives enough head clearance (the canopy is a simple flat-wrapped Lexan screen, and fuselage is higher than a conventional sailplane).
