What are the disadvantages as compared to the LapBAND?

vsgBand FAQ
The LapBAND is reversible; the VSG is not. Unfortunately this turns out not to be much of an advantage of the LapBAND, as the only reason to remove a LapBAND is for complications. If you have questions that have not been answered by this FAQ, please send them to me and I will try to answer them for you.

What are the disadvantages as compared to gastric bypass?

vsgBand FAQ
The main disadvantage is that we don't have long-term data to document that weight loss will be maintained. The sleeve may stretch out, resulting in weight regain. Another disadvantage is that the operation is not reversible, in that part of the stomach is removed and thrown away. It can never be replaced. (On the other hand, there should be no reason to want to put it back). See similar questions...

The glue that is used for "tip ins" (magazine jargon) is referred to as a Peel and Stick glue. See similar questions...

How strong is a typical pervious concrete pavement?

FAQ's - The Concrete Network
Its possible to achieve pervious concrete compressive strengths of 3000 to 4000 psi and flexural strengths of 500 to 600 psi, which are on par with conventional concrete. With the use of admixtures, todays pervious concrete mixes can be made with less water, which improves strength and durability. Also, better placement methods have resulted in tighter pavements that maintain point-to-point contact of all the aggregates while providing the necessary void content. See similar questions...

High performance MDs are designed for 130,000 psi stress at a rated torque. This provides a safety factor of 2 relative to yield strength and a 1.3 safety factor for fatigue. Prototypes have been tested to well over 1 million load cycles at torques which produce 130,000 to 150,000 psi. Sprags are designed to operate at over 250,000 psi contact stress at rated torque. MDs convert 96% of stress to torque, 25% to axial force. Sprags convert 10% of stress to torque, 99% to radial force. See similar questions...
