Once you complete an application, you will be asked to present documentation that shows any income you have earned in the last year, birth certificate and social security cards of your children, proof of residency, and information about others who live in your house. You will be told at the Intake Session if you qualify for the program.

Services such as Pre-k, after school and youth development activities for children and teenagers do not require eligibility. Generally, TANF programs and services are for a family of three making less than $30,000 a year with minor children under the age of 18. This includes a mother or father whose minor child lives with them, or whose minor child is supported by them if they live outside the home, or a mother and father whose children live with them both.

TANF stands for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families and is the program that replaced the old welfare program called Aid to Families with Dependent Children or AFDC. In 1996, the Federal Government created TANF to help low-income families leave welfare and become self-sufficient by giving TANF money to each state so they could create the kinds of programs that would accomplish that in their state.

If you own a home that was built between 1980 and 1998, and have defective siding, you may qualify. If you previously owned a home during this time period and spent money to replace the siding, you may qualify for reimbursement.

A trained staff will spend about 30-60 minutes talking to you about what is going on in your life and how it will affect the baby once its born. She will then be able to make recommendations and give you referrals to other appropriate services, including Healthy Families Home Visitation services
