Essentia Water is non-source dependent, which means Essentia can be produced and bottled anywhere in the world using virtually any water source. Essentia currently uses municipal water as its source supply. The water is completely purified using a filtration and reverse osmosis process that reduces TDS (total dissolved solids) down to approximately 3 ppm (parts per million).

Essentia’s proprietary process “Ionic Separation” produces “thinner” water, also referred to as structured or clustered water. This process removes most of the acidic ions in the water, resulting in a smoother, sweeter tasting water with no harsh, mineral aftertaste.

Essentia Water uses a proprietary process called Ionic Separation. There are two ions in water. One is negatively charged (alkaline) and the other is positively charged (acidic). This process uses electrolysis to electrically split water into alkaline and acidic streams. We bottle only the alkaline stream. In doing so, we are bottling the water that has had the acidic ion removed, which naturally raises the pH of the remaining water.

Artesian water is a phrase found on many bottled water containers and other refreshment products. Artesian water comes from an artesian water source - a confined aquifer in which the water is under enough pressure that, when tapped by a well, the underground water rises above the level of the aquifer surface. In some cases, the water in the aquifer is under sufficient pressure to push the water right up and over the ground surface. Such wells are called flowing artesian wells.

All of the water that we use in our homes comes from either a ground water source, such as a well, or from a surface water source, such a river, lake, or reservoir. In the U.S. in 1990, we used about 9,240 billion gallons of water for domestic purposes. Of that, about 44 % came from ground water sources, and about 56 % came from surface water sources.

The smaller water clusters, “thinner water”, of Essentia Water are more efficient in passing into and out of the body’s cells. Regular water requires conditioning in order to be accepted by the cell. This process takes time and results in a backup of ingested water, giving this bloated sensation. Essentia Water has a lower surface tension giving the water a characteristic described as “silky” by those drinking it.

Everyone has different water intake requirements. The rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces daily. For example, if you weight 100 lbs, convention would suggest you drink at least 50oz (one 1.5 liter) daily. Your level of activity, environment, diet and stress levels should be taken into consideration, as all of these determine your water intake requirement.

Definitely. However drinking Essentia Water will not by itself insure a properly pH balanced system. Essentia Water was designed to assist the body in neutralizing acidic conditions. The benefit of a properly balanced system is lower incidence and severity of infections such as colds, the flu and other infections.

In the “Ionic Separation” process, we free up active hydrogen. The most efficient scavenger of free radicals is active hydrogen.

Both ground water and surface water are used for irrigation. In 1990, about 51,000 million gallons per day were withdrawn from the ground for irrigation, whereas about 85,500 million gallons per day was taken from surface-water sources. A small amount of reclaimed wastewater coming from sewage-treatment plants, about 660 million gallons per day was used for irrigation. The USGS keeps records on the types of irrigation systems used in the United States.

Most lead in drinking water supplies leaches from the plumbing in our homes, including lead service lines, lead-based solder (used to join copper plumbing), and faucets. To reduce your exposure to lead, make sure to flush your pipes for several seconds before using the water for drinking or cooking.

It can be bought from the City, piped in from rivers or lakes, brought in by truck or new water wells can be drilled to support the natural gas drilling operations.

The main fluoride chemical added to water (hydrofluorosilicic acid) is an industrial by-product from the phosphate fertilizer industry. Unlike the fluoride used in toothpaste, hydrofluorosilicic acid is not pharmaceutical-grade quality. It is an unpurified, industrial-grade, corrosive acid which has been linked, in several recent studies, to increased levels of lead in children’s blood. Like arsenic and lead, very small amounts of fluoride can be found in most water supplies.

Simply stated, Litmus Papers cannot be used to determine the pH of clean water or exceptionally pure waters like Essentia. Chemicals on the litmus strip actually alter the pH as the water is being tested. The TDS (total dissolved solids) of a tested liquid must be above 150 to 200 ppm (parts per million) to initiate a sufficient reaction on pH paper.

We do. Our label clearly states that we add magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium. We do not specify the levels of the added minerals because the FDA rules state that all ingredients must be listed as “zero” unless each ingredient (mineral) is greater than 5 mg (milligrams) per serving. All ingredients in Essentia Water are less than 5 mg per serving. Yes, structured water and clustered water are synonymous. Water naturally occurs in clusters of 12-18 individual water molecules.

We treat water from the Edisto River and the Bushy Park Reservoir, both of which are surface water sources. The water is treated at our Hanahan Water Treatment Plant, which is permitted to treat up to 118 million gallons per day (mgd).
