All import and export codes used by the U.S. are based on the worldwide Harmonized Tariff System (HTS). The HTS assigns 6-digit codes (known as the HS number) for general categories that are used worldwide. These 6-digit codes are broken down by Chapter (2 digits), Heading (4 digits) and Sub-heading (6 digits). Countries that use the HTS are then allowed to further define their commodities at a more detailed level, usually 8-10 digits, but still using the universal 6-digit number to start with.

HTS number is an import statistical reporting number found in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S.

Schedule B is the Statistical Classification of Domestic and Foreign Commodities Exported from the United States.  Schedule B contains approximately 8,000 individual 10-digit commodity numbers covering everything from live animals and food products to computers and airplanes, including a distinction between civilian and military airplanes. Every item being exported falls under a particular Schedule B number.

To obtain HS or Schedule B numbers, visit the TIC website at http://www.export.gov/tic and click on "HS/Schedule B." From there, you can access the U.S. Census Bureau's Schedule B Search Engine. Or, go directly to the Census Bureau website at http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/www, and classify your own product through a keyword search.

The earlier units only had 1/4" inputs and outputs. Inputs are fully balanced, outputs are single-ended (some say "quasi-balanced") auto balancee/unbalanced. Ability to drive longer cables is less and high frequency rolloff can be a concern due to cable capacitance. Around 1994 we updated the design and changed to the "B" designation. These units have fully balanced inputs and outputs, both XLR and 1/4" TRS connections being utilized. Functionally the units are virtually identical.

Hepatitis A (HAV) is caused by a virus found in feces (people's stool). You can get it by coming in contact with infected feces. The most common way is by swallowing food or liquids that get contaminated by hands that are not washed thoroughly after using the toilet. The Harmonized System Classification is a standardized numerical method of classifying traded products. This ten digit identifying number is assigned to each product and used by customs officials around the world to determine the duties, taxes and regulations that apply to the product. The first six digits are harmonized throughout the world. The last four digits vary by country.

Power is the rate of doing work. It is an instantaneous quantity, measured in watts. A watt is 1 joule per second. Energy is power over a period of time. It is measured in watt-seconds, but that unit is too small for everyday use, so the unit kilowatt-hours is more commonly used. Note this is a controversial subject - not because there is any disagreement, but because some people are either lazy, uninformed or misinformed and misuse the terms.

With a few exceptions (see "If I want outpatient data, what do I ask for?"), the Carrier dataset contains CMS1500 form claims related to services performed by physicians (non-institutional) that have been sent to carriers for payment. The Outpatient file contains UB-92 claims sent by outpatient institutions to fiscal intermediaries for payment. In the claims files, the residence information is recorded at the time of treatment.

Scheduling To Dos or adding a task to the To Do list are different from Scheduling Emails (which will appear in your To Do List as well) in that Scheduled Emails will always appear with a 'run' link. Scheduled To Dos and individually added To Do List Items are reminders and do not get a 'run' link because there is no email sending functionality associated with them. In order to actually send a scheduled email you must click the 'run' link; the system does not send scheduled emails automatically.

Category B represents a distribution of amounts available for obligation for a specific time period, program, project, object class or any combination of these elements.
