Going back to the main XviD encoding settings screen you'll find the Encoding Type setting. From there you can select whether you want to do a single pass encode or a two pass encode. Single pass mode takes each frame of your video and compresses it using the options you specified. It's as simple as that. Two pass mode encodes each frame of your entire video a first time, creating a small file that gives XviD information on what your video is like.
