Students may feel they do not have time at the end of a busy semester to fill in the evaluation or want to wait until after the final exams but the timing of the evaluation is important to preserve the relationship between faculty and student. The date of the close of the evaluation is selected very carefully by the SIPA Department of Faculty and Curriculum Affairs. Although it would be ideal to have the evaluations close after the final exam or paper, that is just not tenable.

Final exams are given the last week of the semester or the class meeting time for a short-term class. The terms vary so refer to the calendar listed in the Class Schedule for the exact date and time. Instructors will also have this information in their syllabus.

After you enroll, we will ship you a textbook within three days. After you receive your textbook, you have minimum18 days to study for the final exam. Our computer-automated system will enable you to login to your final exam right after your 18-days restriction has expired.

In all versions of CoCASA prior to 3.0 you will only see assessments that are tied to your user logon account. You will not be able to see assessments on the Assessment Setup screen that were entered or imported using a different user logon. You will, however, be able to run reports on any assessment in the database. However, beginning with CoCASA 3.0, all users will be able to view all assessments.

The university defines a final exam conflict as one of the following: (i) a student has two exams scheduled at the same time; (ii) a student has more than two exams in one calendar day; or (iii) a student has more than two consecutive exams (e.g., 8PM-11PM on one day and 8AM-11AM and 12PM-3PM on the next day). Yes. I add five points to every final exam at the end of the semester (in classes where I assign a final exam). This is not extra credit; this is insurance against the risk that one or two questions might have been poorly written. You see, while we have a chance to assess the fairness of midterm questions during the semester, our schedule does not allow a similar assessment of the final. So, I add five points just in case. But I will not add one point more.

Pick up an Exam Rescheduling Request Form from the Registrar or the Dean's Office and turn it in to Eric Graham in the Registrar's Office. If you have two exams at the same time or three or more exams within 36 hours, your request will be granted. If neither of these conditions are met, you may not be able to postpone an exam. To present your request, please make an appointment with Dean Miller to discuss your unusual or compelling reasons.

University policy states that each employee will participate in an annual review at least once each year. All reviews are to be conducted by the end of February each year. Should your annual review be overdue, you may choose to discuss a consultation time with your Supervisor.
