A master's degree generally can be completed in two years. Some fields, such as social work or the speech and hearing sciences, require field work or a clinical practicum, which may add time to the length of completion. A doctorate generally takes 5 to 7 years to complete.

Undergraduate degree programs offered at American Heritage University have been designed to allow students to begin studies within a semester and proceed at their own pace. Students are required to complete a minimum of two courses per session, and must complete their program of study within five years from the date of enrollment, unless the Registrar’s Office has issued an extension. The postgraduate degree programs must be completed within four years from the date of registration.

The amount of time it takes to complete an associate degree at WVC varies by individual need. During this time, you are completing general education requirements, major requirements, and any prerequisite courses you might need. Most of our certificate programs (and they do vary widely in the number of units required) typically take two or more semesters to complete. WVC encourages students to attend both part-time and full-time (12 or more units) as they pursue their personal and academic goals.

A normal bachelor degree spans 3 years (+1 year if you consider an Honours degree in Australia). Thereafter, writing the professional exams through the Institute (London) or Faculty (Scotland) of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries (US) or Institute of Actuaries of Australia takes an average of 3-7 years (working and studying) after the degree.

Full-time students can complete their Juris Doctor in three years. Part-time students can complete their Juris Doctor in four years if they take classes during the summer semesters.

You may register as a part-time or full-time students. Your enrollment will follow the academic terms, Fall, Spring, and Summer. Remember, 128 hours is minimum for graduation with the bachelor's degree.

The Master of Science program usually requires between two to three semesters (24 units of course work) and a report and presentation. A thesis plan (20 units of course work) for the Master of Science degree is also possible. The Master of Engineering program consists of 40-44 units of course work, including an independent study report. An M.Eng. degree is usually obtained in 4 semesters.

The time span to earn the Doctorate of Philosophy averages 6 years. The first two to three years, depending upon transfer of credits, are spent taking courses with lab rotations counted as one course unit. Students funded by teaching assistantships are expected to take 7 courses per year (3 fall, 3 spring, 1 summer). Students funded by training grants or research fellowships take 8 courses per year (4 fall, 4 spring).

The program is designed to be flexible in order to accommodate the differing work schedules and capacities of its students. Assuming, however, that a student takes two courses during each major semester and one during the summer, it is possible to finish in two years. (Note: the University maximum for completing a degree is, normally, five years).

The Degree of Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences requires three or four additional semesters beyond the certificate program. The time required to complete the degree requirements may vary depending on whether one is enrolled on a full-time basis, and whether one has previously completed various non-radiologic science courses required in the B.S. program.
