How do I set SNMP port numbers for single nodes?

Scotty Frequently Asked Questions
The solution is the same as described for the community strings. You can either define a Tnm SNMP alias and set the SNMP:Alias attribute of the node, or you define the SNMP:Config attribute. For example, you can define the value "-port 8042 -address feist.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de" to make sure the SNMP tools talk to the SNMP agent on feist.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de which is listening on port number 8042.

How do I set SNMP community names for single nodes?

Scotty Frequently Asked Questions
There are actually two solutions for this problem. The first solution is to define an attribute called SNMP:Config which contains SNMP session configuration options as defined in the Tnm snmp(n) man page. The second solution is to define an attribute called SNMP:Alias which contains the name of a Tnm SNMP alias. For example, you might want to set the attribute SNMP:Alias to the value toaster. Can I run multiple nodes on a single computer?

MySQL AB :: MySQL 5.0 Reference Manual :: 16.10 MySQL Cluste...
It is possible but not advisable. One of the chief reasons to run a cluster is to provide redundancy; in order to enjoy the full benefits of this redundancy, each node should reside on a separate machine. If you place multiple nodes on a single machine and that machine fails, you lose all of those nodes. See similar questions...

Network Vision Inc. - FAQ - Troubleshooting
This happens when 'stackable' switches are stacked. The firmware in the stacked switches use a method to determine port numbers. IntraVUE reports the same numbers as the switch reports. As far as we know, there is no way to configure this in the switch, it is what it is. See similar questions...

What port numbers are in a knock?

PORTKNOCKING - A system for stealthy authentication across c...
The port numbers in a knock are also arbitrary. They should be ports that are normally not used by other services, although this isn't a critical point. The server allocates some number of closed ports (e.g. 256) to participate in the knock mechanism. These ports can be in a contiguous range (e.g. 500-755) or in two or more port groups (e.g. 500-600,700-854, or 500-600,700-800,900-950,960,970). The choice of ports needs to be known to the client. Environment settings set by a batch file are not working.
By default the port used for the RPC replication is dynamically set as a secure measure. It may be desirable to set the port however (for the purposes of monitoring data etc.) and this can be enabled by performing the following registry change: Double click the new entry and set to the port you want it to use (make sure its not in use, e.g. 1352) After monitoring is complete be sure to remove this entry to regain the security of dynamic RPC port allocation. I've added a map to a web tour of single nodes and they seem bigger. What's wrong?

CubicNavigator - Tutorial
Maps exist as QuickTime sprites, which are compressed using a lossless "transparent PICT" format, which doesn't reduce in size as much as a JPEG. If it is a large map and there is a lot of detail in the image, the size could increase the size of the .mov by a fair proportion. To reduce the size, you can reduce the dimensions of the map, or ensure it has a lot of "flat" color areas, which compress much more in a lossless format than random detail. See similar questions...
