Urethane bushing are a harder material the stock rubber. Generally a tighter more responsive ride is noticed after Urethane is installed.

There is no standard for mandrel diameters, therefore no manfacturer guarantees that their bushings will fit anyone else's mandrel or vice versa. There seem to be 2 major diameters out there: '7mm' and '8mm'. 7m will let the tubes used in 7mm kits side on, and 8mm will let the from tube for american flat top pens (a.k.a. Parker Style) and others slide on. Everyone has a '7mm' mandrel. Berea and HUT have 8mm mandrels also.

Moisture curing urethane is 1K polyisocyanate resin which reacts with atmospheric moisture to form urea linkages.Although this is technically a polyurea system, it is generally referred to as moisture cured urethane (MCU).The chemistry is that polyisocyanates first undergo a reaction with water to form carbamic acid which dissociates to form amine & carbon dioxide which further undergo reaction with isocyanate to form urea linkages.Urea linkages offer excellent bonding characteristics.

Urethane and fiberglass are two different materials used to make body kits. Urethane body kits have perfect or near-perfect fitment and are more durable than fiberglass parts. Because they are made of a rubbery material they can flex and bend without cracking or breaking. They are also more chip-resistant than fiberglass parts. Fiberglass parts are generally lighter and easier to modify if any custom work is planned. Fiberglass is also easier to repair and less difficult to paint.
