What is the formula to calculate air velocity increase due to air temperature increase?
Ask the Experts - EnergyVortexIf a central plant puts out 20,358,350 BTU's per year, how many tons of air conditioning is it? I believe it is 1,696 tons. However, our landlord is arguing that the total production of chilled water is equal to 1,969,699 tons per year divided by 365 days/year =4,687 tons per day, divided by 14 hrs per day =290 ton/hours. Please advise who is correct and why. Thank you so much for your help in this matter.
My pots keep freezing up. Should I increase the bath temperature?
Eastern Alloys, Inc.It is most likely that the metal temperature control is at fault. Check this with a portable immersion pyrometer. First, put the test thermocouple close to the one controlling the bath. If this is OK, move the thermocouple around the bath to see if it is uniform. If is not, you will have to look at the burner position and furnace structure. If the trouble persists when the temperature is correct, it may be due to the alloy composition. How do you determine the Velocity, Temperature, and Density?
Michigan Aerospace Corporation - LIDAR FAQBy analyzing the Fabry-Perot etalon fringes, we can extract velocity, temperature, and density data. Pictured below is a simulated data example from one of these fringes. Velocity: Air velocity is directly proportional to the magnitude of the Doppler shift; the greater the velocity, the greater the Doppler shift. There would be no Doppler shift in wavelength if air molecules or particles were at rest. See similar questions...
How does Moly coating increase velocity?
MidwayUSA: Moly Questions & AnswersMoly coating actually decreases pressure and muzzle velocity because of reduced friction between the bullet and bore. Moly coating will increase terminal velocity by increasing the ballistic coefficient of the bullet. Moly has higher lubricity than the jacket material. This lubricity causes a reduced coefficient of friction in the air. The reduced drag results in a higher ballistic coefficient. See similar questions...
What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Rufus Bath's FAQNope. Sorry. There's way too many people on this rock for one all-knowing being to handle. I doubt he even knows my name. I bet he has me in some database and has assigned me a number based on my time of birth. Something nice and impersonal like 10,029,371,020,238. And then at the end of life I'll just be given a one hour written exam, that will be multi-choice, and marked by some computer. And then "my life" will be graded. See similar questions...
What increase in horsepower should I expect from a K&N air intake system?
FAQsK&N makes several different types and configurations of performance air intake systems. Depending on the year, make, and model of your vehicle, only one style of intake system may be available for that vehicle. All of our intake systems are dyno-tested and guaranteed to increase your vehicle’s horsepower. Instead of making a general claim, we publish actual intake system horsepower increases for many part numbers and vehicles. See similar questions...
WHY DOES OIL TEMPERATURE INCREASE?
Ferrocare Winning SolutionsThis percentage can increase when contamination increases, say by increased pumping energy required to push oil through choked filters. When suction side filters are choked, there is pump cavitation and aeration. Pumping energy is still higher as suction pressure drops while final pressures still have to be maintained. Moreover aeration contributes to an effect known as "dieseling" whereby oil ignites at high pressure side when air is available. See similar questions...
What is formula to calculate the heat load of the unit ???
Ask the Experts - EnergyVortexI have an obsolete 34 ton Carrier, rooftop, multi-zone, direct expansion unit that I virtually can't get replacement parts for. I need a comparable change out, preferably not a Carrier. Can someone recommend a good substitute, brand, and model number? Also, I have the same scenario with a 20 ton Carrier. We recently bought another home and moved. This home has two dual fuel heat pumps that are zoned. Can you explain exactly how dual fuel heat pumps work. See similar questions...
How do I calculate air flight emissions?
The Skakagrall: CO2/ tree planting FAQThis is a hard one, as the National Energy Foundation admit, there are all kinds of variables involved. I used 0.18 kg per mile for a long distance flight, for shorter distances a figure of up to 0.3 kg per mile may apply. Climate Care www.climatecare.org, Future Forests www.futureforests.com , and the National Energy Foundation www.natenergy.org.uk/convert.htm all have excellent calculators! See similar questions...
What is the effect of air temperature?
increase in ambient air temperature of 5.6°C increases the octane requirement of an engine by 0.44 - 0.54 MON. When the combined effects of air temperature and humidity are considered, it is often possible to use one octane grade in summer, and use a lower octane rating in winter. See similar questions...

How does Velocity Tuner increase horsepower up to 16%?
Velocity Tuner - Frequently Asked QuestionsThe Velocity Tuner swirls the air in the intake tube much like a tornado. As a result, this allows the air to move faster and more effectively around corners and bends. Think of it this way: when you drain a bathtub, a whirlpool is created because it's the fastest way for the water to go down the drain. The concept is the same. The faster the air moves in your intake tract, the more power your car, truck or SUV will have - it's that simple. See similar questions...
How does Velocity Tuner increase fuel efficiency up to 31%?
Velocity Tuner - Frequently Asked QuestionsThe Velocity Tuner creates a mini-tornado which in turn creates finer particles of atomized fuel allowing better flame proliferation for a more complete ignition in the combustion chamber. Your vehicles ECU (computer) reads data through the O2 sensor then recognizes the change. In turn, it adjusts by cutting surplus fuel delivery thereby resulting in better gas mileage. How can we increase the air quality in our home?
FAQUsually the best way to combat allergy and indoor air quality problems is with a quality electronic air cleaner installed in series with the air duct system. A secondary protection method can be a purifying ultraviolet light installed in the air stream. These methods have been tested and proven to improve your indoor air quality. See similar questions...

VoyForums: The Magic BoxKung fu: Hay nice to see you around. I was in two minds whether or not to see "King Arthur", which opens over here at the end of the month. I've been trying to find out what they have bases their claim to this being the "true story" of Arthur. Will the Velocity Tuner work with aftermarket or cold-air intakes?
Velocity Tuner - Frequently Asked QuestionsThe Velocity Tuner is specifically designed to install in stock intake tubes. However, if you have had aftermarket work done (such as an aftermarket or custom intake) or you want to install it in a cold air intake, you would need to perform custom work to install it such as perhaps welding it, using Epoxy, or using Nuts/Bolts. Why might my oil temperature increase with Royal Purple?
Royal Purple Motor OilThere have been isolated instances where we have received reports of temperatures increasing. Due to the heat carrying capabilities of the oil, the oil is absorbing more of heat from the engine, and the oil is not being cooled efficiently. The solution would be a more effective oil cooling system. See similar questions...
