The residence halls close for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring breaks. Students must vacate their rooms by the closing hours posted during those times. For Christmas break and May closing, students are to leave within 24 hours of their last exam. The residence halls will re-open once the College is back in session. Parents and students should make travel arrangements well in advance so that students may leave the halls by the required time for each break period.

While we say that some of our residence halls are co-ed, men and women do NOT share bathroom space or floors. They may live in the same building, but there are locked doors between them.

There is a requirement for freshmen outside of Summit, Portage, Stark, Medina, or Wayne counties to live in the University residence halls their first year. You must submit a housing contract to the Department of Residence Life and Housing. The contract deadline for the Freshman Housing Guarantee is May 1. Halls of residences are place that you live when you're studying (sometimes known as a 'study bedroom'). a resident, you can either live on your own or share with another student. Your bathroom and other facilities will usually be shared, but en-suite rooms are becoming more common. In terms of amenities, telephones are normally provided either on each floor or in each room. Halls can be single sex or mixed.

Being a minority in a residence hall can be difficult at times. A college campus is a microcosm of society, meaning it is a mini-society. A student can expect to encounter the same issues on a college campus that he or she might in a residential community. Views and beliefs systems from multiple regions, cultures, and religions are bound to circulate through a college dormitory.

Locked entrance doors secure the residence halls 24/7. Residents are provided keys to gain access only to their specific building.

Bikes are allowed in rooms but they cannot be kept in the residence hall stairwells for fire and safety reasons. We do have outdoor racks, but make sure you bring a lock for your bicycle. The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages in the housing facilities is forbidden. Violations could lead to eviction from the residence halls.

Students must have their Wagner College ID card in order to gain access to any of the residence halls. Each Residence Hall has 24 hour coverage at the front desk to monitor those entering. Non-Wagner College visitors must leave a picture identification at the desk to be allowed entrance. Guests must also have a student host who takes responsibility for the visitor and accompanies them at all time.

The consequence for a first time alcohol offense is censure, the alcohol education class, a $70 fine, completion of the E-CHUG, an on-line alcohol assessment program, and a paper.

If you like or trust your RA, the RA's Room is a safe place. If you feel safer in the presence of your RD, then see visit your RD in her/his office. However, if you are looking for a safe place because you don't feel safe in your own room, see your RD immediately. Anything that can be done, will be done to make you feel as safe as humanly possible in your Lock Haven home.

Spring Hill students who are 21 years of age are allowed to consume alcohol if they are in their rooms with the door closed or if they purchase alcohol at a College sanctioned event where a third-party vendor is present. Students under 21 who are found consuming or in the possession of alcohol will be sanctioned through the judicial system.

If you are 21 you can drink in the dorms. But it must be in a private area (not common areas like study lounges or lobbies). If you are under 21, it is not allowed! There may only be one open drink per 21 year- old in the room.

times a residence environment can have a higher noise level than an apartment building of comparable size. This results from the fact that a residence is a dynamic community of students. Whereas most people in an apartment building remain in their own area, students in a residence are encouraged to interact for the purpose of making friends, learning and developing a community on campus. This leads to many benefits and on occasion increased noise.
