KMFDM was on WaxTrax! for about 10 years prior to disbanding. The albums ATTAK and STURM & DRANG, and the single BOOTS were on Metropolis Records. WWIII was released on Sanctuary Records, but due to difference with the label KMFDM is currently signed with Metropolis Records.

KMFDM began its current HAU RUCK ZUCK WORLD TOUR with Combichrist on September 27, 2006. Check the KMFDM Website to see if they'll be at a venue near you.

Sascha has in the past occasionally posted to rec.music.industrial or alt.music.kmfdm when a big happening occured. As of late, he has been posting regulary on http://www.theultraheavybeat.com, and the Official KMFDM Myspace. He has also been posting regular updates on the KMFDM News page

And yes, it is proper German to say "Kein Mitleid F?r Die Mehrheit", but the question refers to KMFDM, not proper German.

The current "core" lineup of KMFDM consists of Sascha Konietzko, Lucia Cifarelli, Jules Hodgeson, Andy Selway, and Steve White.

KMFDM worked on the soundtrack for the PC game by 3D Realms entitled "Prey". The game was released in July of 2006, without the original KMFDM soundtrack. The developers have stated "It's not the direction we're going in".

In the past, KMFDM has stated: "We have no problem with a 'souvenir' type Walkman recording. We do have a problem if these recordings pop up commercially for horrendous prices like 'Operation KMFDM .'" However, now that KMFDM has released live albums, the band's opinion has likely changed TO BE UPDATED

According to Sascha: "We take what we are doing very seriously, but that doesn't mean that we are serious about everything that we're doing. The drive behind this band was never like, 'Let's start a band and get, like a good record deal, and make lots of money' It's more like we want to see how far we can go..in terms of ripping the system.."

What Do You Know Deutschland?, Don't Blow Your Top, and UAIOE were all released on September 12, 2006. They have been remastered and each include a booklet with detailed liner notes, never before seen photos,and lyrics. The remainder of the catalog will be released in chronological order three at a time, with the next three being released in November 2006, than January 2007. After leaving KMFDM, En Esch & G?nter formed Slick Idiot and released an album entitled "Dicknity." G?nter is currently working on a project entitled "Schluz" with a few tour dates throughout October.

According to Sascha: "Absolutely not. The name KMFDM is a registered Trademark that I own. After 15 years so much deadweight has accumulated that I felt the need for 'Tabula Rasa', a new, clean slate, a fresh beginning."

It is finished has been available on VHS since 1997. The videos for MORE & FASTER, NA?VE, VOGUE, MONEY, A DRUG AGAINST WAR, JUKE-JOINT JEZEBEL (Manga) and SON OF A GUN all can be found on the video, along with live versions of DISOBEDIENCE, GODLIKE and MORE & FASTER.

In response to the news reports regarding the April 20, 1999 tragedy in Colorado, Sascha K. released the following: Statement from Sascha K., formerly KMFDM regarding media reports linking the band to the "Trenchcoat Mafia" website in Littleton, CO: First and foremost, KMFDM would like to express their deep and heartfelt sympathy for the parents, families and friends of the murdered and injured children in Littleton," says Sascha K., founder of KMFDM.

This is perhaps the most annoyingly consistent thread to have plagued the alternative newsgroups. KMFDM stands for "Keiner Mitleid Fuer Die Mehrheit" or alternatively "Kein Mehrheit Fur Die Mitleid". Both translated into English loosely, mean: "No Pity For The Majority.." It does not mean "Kill Mother Fucking Depeche Mode," (much as we'd like it to), "Kittens Must Find Diluted Milk," "Krupps Must Felch Doctor Moriarty" or any of the other silly acronyms it's been assigned by people...
