All formal complaints against an Officer of the Indiana University Police Department must be made in person. The Shift Sergeant on duty will meet with you and explain the procedures and instruct you on filling out the necessary forms. After the necessary forms are completed and signed, the Officer will be given an opportunity to provide a written response to the allegations.

Complaints of this nature should be reported to the Police Department for investigation and resolution

If you have a complaint involving the actions of a Baton Rouge Police Officer, please contact the Internal Affairs Division at 704 Mayflower Street, or by calling 389-3850. The Internal Affairs Division is responsible for investigating complaints made by the public regarding violation of Departmental Rules, Regulations, Policies or Procedures.

You may call the Watch Commander at (909) 620-2151 or contact any field officer, front desk personnel, on duty supervisor at the Pomona Police Department. Contact may be in person, by phone or by mail. Complaint forms are available in the lobby of the main Police Station.

If you think a police officer has behaved incorrectly or unfairly, you have the right to make a complaint. Unless there are exceptional circumstances, you should make your complaint within 12 months of the alleged incident.

When making a complaint that involves a foodstuff, customers should ensure that the food is stored properly to ensure that there is no contamination or deterioration of the food before being analysed or examined.

First, you should have an idea of what specific misconduct the POST board can address. Minnesota Rules, Chapter 6700.2000 defines misconduct, and Minnesota Rules, Chapter 6700.2200 addresses the development of written policy and procedure to address citizen allegations of misconduct. Also, if it is proven that misconduct that may result in disciplinary action has occurred, the POST Board can only take action against the officer's license.

A. A complaint may be filed about the conduct of an off-duty officer, however, the officer shall not be found guilty of misconduct if there is no connection between the conduct and either the occupational requirements for a Police Officer or the reputation of the Police Service.

If you desire to file a complaint regarding an officer action, you will need to either call or come by the police department and request to speak with a "Supervisor". The supervisor will take your written complaint on the form provided and you may be asked to write out a statement. If you choose to just talk over the issue with the supervisor that will also be acceptable and we will try and come up with an equitable solution to your complaint.

Some reports can be taken over the telephone. However, due to the nature of some incidents, a personal visit is required. The police department dispatch center does not have the names of persons involved in accidents available. If a person is injured in an accident and unable to call themselves, we will notify their family.
