There are several types of mesh used in hernia. Each of these materials is made of special kind of plastics that are compatible with living tissue. Surgeon will select the mesh that is best for the site and size of the incisional hernia.

Canvas only means it is not stretched over a frame - we deliver it rolled and you arrange stretching with your local framer. "Canvas Wrapped" means we deliver it, ready to hang, stretched around a 4cm (2inch) thick wooden frame, strung and taped at the back so dust doesn't get in the crack between the canvas and the frame. Gives a nice chunky art gallery feel.

Aesthetically, one looks like a succession of diamonds and the other looks like a succession of squares. The main difference between the two is that square mesh netting will naturally hang straight and to exact dimensions without a border installed. Diamond mesh has a lot more stretch, and must be pulled into place for it to install into exact dimensions when it has no border installed.

Woven mesh is produced by the process of weaving, that is, by passing wires alternately over and under each other. Welded mesh is a grid formed of wires that are fused together at their junctions. It is produced on automatic welding looms by accurately positioning the short (weft) wires over the long (warp) wires and spot welding their intersections (not over and under, as in ordinary weaving). The canvas transfer process allows you to choose a poster from our Museum collection and transform it into a work of art on canvas. A print on canvas option allows you to select one of your personal digital images or Member Art piece and have it printed directly on to high quality canvas. Both are water resistant, require no glazing and can be stretched on to stretcher bars for framing. You can choose to add brushstrokes to canvas transfers. This option is not available for prints on canvas.

Matte canvas is a clean canvas surface that has no glare or reflection which will give a print an artistic feel. Gloss canvas has a gloss coating on the canvas that resembles the appearance of a photograph which does have a reflection in light.

Mesh covers are made of an open weave material designed to allow for best available air flow through the material. Incontinence covers are made of a waterproof material which will not allow fluid to penetrate the cover.

The Canvas widget is the most configurable and versatile. With versatility comes complication however, and it is certainly deserving of its own special section within this FAQ... You might also see the examples in the widget demo especially the "canvas item types" selection (which runs the items.pl demo script). Unlike other widgets the Canvas does not take the -bitmap configuration option. One of the ways to place things - including bitmaps - onto a Canvas is to call create on it.

Mesh is a .package file that contains information about the shape of hair, outfit etc. That is why texture files(recolors) will not work without them. Meshes are often non-redistributable, so you have to download them from mesh creators' sites. The url where you need to download the mesh from is always in the descriptions, so make sure you read them carefully.

When a new project is started, we usually have some specific intention of producing a collage for either electronic media (your computer screen, digital photo frame, etc.) or print (your own printer, commercial photo printing, etc.). Very gradually, the inside of the tipi, above the fire, will get dark as the fabric absorbs the pigments from the smoke.
