If you are diabetic, and on glucophage and/or glucovance, please contact our office as soon as possible. This exam requires a bowel cleansing. The day before the exam, eat a light lunch and dinner, without any roughage. At your pharmacy, buy Ducolax tablets or a ten ounce bottle of magnesium citrate. Sometime between 6:00 and 8:00pm the evening before the exam take either four (4) Dulcolax tablets or the bottle of magnesium citrate. On the day of the exam, do not eat solid food.

The IV is for Intravenous. This means that you will have an injection of fluid into your vein. The P is of Pyelogram, a Greek word referring to a portion of the kidney. The radiologist refers to the injected fluid as "contrast", and it is used so that urine will be visible on x-ray. The IV fluid containing contrast circulates in the blood stream throughout the body, until it reaches the kidneys where it is removed and put into the urine.

No specific preparation is required. Please do not use powders, talc, lotion or deodorant on the breast and in the underarm area. For your comfort and convenience, two piece outfits are recommended. If you have had mammograms in the past at any other facility, you will be asked to bring the films with you to your scheduled exam.

Completion of the LMU Addiction Counseling Certificate will prepare students for the CAADAC exam to become a CADC I or II. On the day of the exam you should not have any caffeine. That would mean no coffee, tea, cola’s, chocolate or any other form of caffeine. It’s alright to eat and drink on the day of the exam but you should have only light meals. far as medication goes, you should continue to take any medication you are on. You do not need to change your medication schedule for the exam. If you have any particular questions about your medication you should give us a call or your physician a call.

Answer: Allow yourself at least a few months to prepare for the exam. Keep up with your reading and look for articles related to the exam knowledge areas. To help you study, ACHE publishes a number of texts that address the knowledge areas on the exam. There is also a written tutorial and an online tutorial study course available for individuals preparing for the exam.
