Q What causes arcing in electrical circuits?
Zlan -- FAQArcing is due to electrical current jumping across an air gap producing heat and a visual light. Low current arcing does not always contain sparks. Some appliances contain acceptable arcing; e.g., the electric drill produces arcs when the electrical contact brushes move from commutator section to commutator section. This type arcing is not hazardous. Wiring arcing above 5 amps can produce sufficient heat and sparks to start a fire.
What is the voltage of the electrical arcing?
FAQThe simulator operates with regular 120v current. The simulator then transforms the electricity to a voltage of approximately 10,000 volts with a 2 milliamps current at arcing points. Size! The major difference is that the Large Group version is about twice the size of the original one. Surprisingly enough, the bigger model is lighter to carry because it is broken down into 2 modules and an accessories bag (see detailed specs on the products page). See similar questions...
How do I know if there are any electrical short circuits?
Irritrol PC Control - Residential Controller - Frequently As...The controller has a diagnostic capability that will detect electrical short circuits in the valve solenoids or in the wiring from the controller to the valves in the system. The diagnostic circuit breaker will turnoff the zone with the short circuit and it will identify the problem zone with a blinking light on the controller. It will water all other operable stations according to their schedule. See similar questions...
Q Why is arcing considered a serious problem?
Zlan -- FAQBy its very nature arcing develops heat in a localized area and produces hot embers in the form of sparks which can then ignite dust, wiring insulation, or other combustibles that may be nearby. This heat may be in an enclosed ceiling or wall outlet box, thereby causing a fire that can go undetected by people or smoke detectors until the fire is beyond control. See similar questions...
Q Why is it difficult to protect against arcing?
Zlan -- FAQImproving arcing protection in today's circuit breaker, using yesterday's technology (thermal & magnetic), would increase nuisance tripping beyond acceptability. Today's circuit breaker has three speeds of response; no response, slow response and fast response. These responses are generally grouped by the amount of load current: No response are arcing currents at or below the circuit breaker's rating. (For a 20 amp breaker, it does not response to arcing at or below 20 amps). See similar questions...
Are there any pumps or electrical circuits that need to be connected?

Q - Wouldn't you get arcing which would create unwanted heat?
Cool Chips plc - Frequently Asked QuestionsA - If the surfaces are very uneven, arcing may occur at sharp edges. In operation, these edges are destroyed through ablation, so the arcing is eliminated. Note that at low voltages, arcing is not a common problem. A - No. The most active electrons tunnel, so you will get more tunneling current with hotter active areas than with colder. What causes electrical noise?
Electrical noise can be caused by major disturbances like lightning, but is most often the natural by-product of the use of electricity. For example, noise that gets into your instrument can be caused by the air conditioner in your building, refrigeration compressors, the emergency generator set, laser printers or even neighboring electronic systems. No matter where you plug in your equipment, you find electrical noise. In fact, it's only safe when it's unplugged or protected by an POWERSOS UPS. See similar questions...
Q - How do you run the electrical and plumbing?
ICF FAQA - Some of the utilities are placed prior to the pour, and others are done afterwards. Services access cavities need to be cut before the pour. Just use a saw, utility knife or hot knife to cut through the blocks. Then place the service pipes (or sleeves) in the openings. The gaps should be foamed to prevent concrete leakage during the pour. Once the pour is complete cavities for wiring and plumbing can be cut into the surface using a router, chainsaw, or hot knife. Place the services in chase. See similar questions...
Q-What causes wrinkles?
Albany Plastic Surgery - Saratoga Cosmetic Surgeon FAQ - Wil...A-For many people facial wrinkles are caused by everyday muscle activity. As we age our skin loses its elasticity (tightness) and the collagen under our skin thins, causing lines or "wrinkles" where the skin creases. For many, BOTOX? Cosmetic virtually "erases" these lines. Unlike surgery, BOTOX? Cosmetic is fast, simple, and minimally invasive, with no downtime or recovery. Q What causes pre-mature ejaculation?
Frequently Asked QuestionsNo one is quite sure how men develop problems with rapid ejaculation. However, many professionals believe that the ability to control ones ejaculation is a skill that is learned during adolescence and early adulthood. Often, masturbation is considered a method in which this response is learned and mastered. Although the problem is more common among young men it can persist throughout the life span of an individual. See similar questions...
Q. What causes decay?
Dr. Steven Green - Holistic Family DentistryA. During stress states, minerals from bones and teeth are returned to the circulation. The resultant dry, "lifeless" surface of the tooth attracts scavenging bacteria. Immune markers of scavengers stimulate the inflammatory process within the tooth. Tooth decay is immune-mediated inflammatory destruction of teeth infected with bacteria. Tooth decay is inflammation "out of control, a pimple of a tooth". See similar questions...

Q What is electrical stimulation?
Meat Science: Frequently Asked QuestionsA It is the application of low (50 to 100 volts) to high (400 to 550 volts) voltage of electricity to freshly slaughtered livestock (applied immediately after slaughter to up to 30 minutes after slaughter) to improve the tenderness of the meat and to cause the color, firmness, and marbling of the meat to be enhanced. Benjamin Franklin, in 1749, experimented with using electricity to stun turkeys. Rather than stunning the turkeys, the turkeys were given too much electricity and were electrocuted. Q What is an "electrical fire"?
Zlan -- FAQelectrical fire is a fire started from electrical arcs and sparks. A drape which catches fire from being too close to an electrical heater is not considered an electrical fire. Electrical arcing and sparking usually occurs in confined spaces such as inside the wall, outlet, appliance, or the attic. Some arcing does occur in the living space from defective appliances and overheated or damaged extension cords. Smoke detectors provide little advance notice with most electrical fires.
