It depends. Class 3 PDL covers both Class 3 and Class 3A vehicles under the law and is valid for 6 months at one go. You can continue to use the PDL if it has not expired at the time you are taking the Class 3 practical test. Can I exchange a provisional licence from another country?

Please note that a provisional licence and certificate of competency from another country cannot be submitted for exchange. The licence must have been converted to full in the particular country first. Penalty points on Northern Ireland/UK licences do not transfer over to ROI licences on exchange.
