The short answer: use IMAP, use abel.math.harvard.edu as the mail server both for sending and receiving mail and make sure to enter your account name. An other possibility of course is to connect to your account by ssh and read email with "pine" "mutt" or "mail".

To create an mail account. Open Outlook. On the Tools menu, click Accounts. In the "Internet Accounts" dialog box, click the Add button and select Mail. Type a descriptive name for this email account. Press the "Next" button. Type your e-mail address. Press the "Next" button. E-mail Address: This would be the username of the account you created in the Control Panel, plus, the "@" symbol follow by your domain. Example: username_you_chose@yourdomain.com.

Usually, all your mail is transferred off of our servers and onto your computer. Anything you download is no longer available if you go check the same account on another computer. Most email programs have a setting that will leave mail on the server so that you can retrieve it from another computer. You do have to be careful setting this up, because if neither computer clears out the old messages, you could end up with with several months' worth of email clogging your mailbox on the server.

Enter "pop3.phreego.com" for the incoming mail server and "smtp.phreego.com" for the outgoing mail server. Click "Next". Enter your full email address (example: mailbox@phreego.com) in the username field.  Enter your password.  If you would like Outlook Express to remember your password check the "Remember password" box. Leave the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" box unchecked.  Click "Next".

In the "Preferences" window, in the "Email" section under Accounts, enter your name and email address. Set the "SMTP Server" as "smtp.phreego.com" and the "POP Server" as "pop3.phreego.com". Enter your full email address (example: mailbox@phreego.com) as the "Account ID". Under the "Servers" tab, enter "smtp.phreego.com" for the "Outgoing Mail Server" and "pop3.phreego.com" for the "Incoming Mail server".  Enter your entire email address (example: mailbox@phreego.

For incoming mail, your mail client should be set to the IMAPs/POP3s server: mail.cse.ucdavis.edu Whether you use POP3 or IMAP we require that you enable SSL. For outgoing mail, your mail client should be set to the SMTP server: mail.cse.ucdavis.edu TLS should be enabled and Authenticated SMTP should be enabled, using the same username as for incoming mail.

Start the Network Control Applet by clicking on Network from Control Panel (Start - Settings - Control Panel) or right click on Network Neighborhood and select Properties Select "Obtain an IP address from a DHCP Service". DHCP settings will only override IP address and subnet mask locally configured. If you have configured DNS, WINS etc locally then the DHCP configuration will not overwrite it.

The env variable ${XPSERVERLIST} contains a list of display identifiers (seperated by whitespace) to tell the application where it can find the Xprt servers. Usually ${XPSERVERLIST} is set by the profile startup scripts (e.g. /etc/profile or /etc/profile.d/xprint.sh) using the output of "/etc/init.d/xprint get_xpserverlist". Example: % export XPSERVERLIST="'/etc/init.

The incoming mail server is mail.yourcompany.com and the outgoing server is smtp.yourISPaccount.net Your user name is your FULL email address (ie. yourname@yourcompany.com) and password as per your choice on signup (see your signup confirmation email for details)

Click "Getting Started" in the category" column and enter your name, email address. Then type "pop1.ctimail.com*" or "popo.ctimail.com*" as your incoming mail server. Lastly, enter your login ID as your login name and press "OK". (* Click here for selection of incoming mail server) Next, click "Checking Mail" in the category" column and type "pop1.ctimail.com*" or "popo.ctimail.com*" as your mail server. Then enter your login ID as your login name. Press "OK".

Ensure that the option "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected. Click on OK, OK, and close the mail settings window. At this stage, you are now ready to use authenticated SMTP. When sending mail, you may be asked for your password. In order to send, simply enter the password you normally use for you email account.
