It securely erases everything in the writable space on a hard drive. Everything. All the files, all the free space, the partition table, the boot sector, the works. This includes the operating system and any preinstalled packages your hardware vendor may have included on the drive when you got it. Everything. I don't know how to say this more emphatically. Bags remain wet for several reasons, first and foremost is the overloading of a machine. The next reason is because the inside of a cassette has not been properly cleaned and Stat-Dry applied. The Statim dries bags by circulating air through the warm but now dry boiler and through the cassette and out into the discharge bottle. Polypropylene (PP) and polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) products can be autoclaved many times. We have PP containers in our lab that have been autoclaved over 100 times and, although they have yellowed somewhat, they are still in service. Fluoropolymer products, i.e., products made of Teflon PFA, FEP or ETFE, can all be autoclaved without problems, except for the stopcocks in NALGENE Separatory Funnels, which should not be autoclaved because of resultant leakage problems.
