In common with most mammals badgers are able to swim, but they usually try to avoid doing so. They will go out of their way to make use of bridges across streams and rivers, and will utilise fallen trees if available. Instances have been reported of badgers making use of a suitable tree fallen across a stream over many years, to the point where the bark was worn away and the top surface polished smooth by the passage of feet over many years.

You can visit the island via the Ferry on Saturday or take a day trip with one of the local tour operators. Whatever your choice, don't miss Direction Island. Also Prison Island is another popular area to swim as is many of the channels between the more remote islands.

All children enrolled in the Summer Fun Program swim on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at the Mt. Lebanon Community Pool, weather permitting. Fees for swimming are an additional cost.

Yes to lagoon, No to swimming pool. Most people getting an average-sized tattoo will have no problem going in the lagoon. In fact, ancient Tahitians used to go into the lagoon immediately after receiving a tattoo in order to speed healing. I do however recommend you use a healing ointment such as tamanu oil, A&D or Biafine and rinse with fresh water after swimming. If you plan on getting a very large tattoo, I would advise staying out of the water 2-3 days.
