Thus unless you know the place of marriage, the poor old registrar would have to search through all the registers for each church/chapel to try and find your particular marriage. The government charges £7 for one, if you have ordered an investigation I can provide you with them for £7.50 each (50p covers my transaction fees paid to our bank).
