High schools scores are posted in our High School Sports section as soon as they are available to us. We get scores from the Birmingham News, Huntsville Times, Press-Register and Associated Press and provide as complete a list as possible. If you know the score for a game we missed, please let us know.

The next retake opportunity will be in August. After that, the next retake opportunity will be during the regular WASL testing times next March and April. Students in special education who took the DAW last spring may retake the test in November 2006, if necessary.

Students in Grade 10 who took the tests this spring will receive two sets of WASL results. By June 15, individual student scores for reading, writing, and math will be sent to families. An additional report will be issued to Class of 2009 families in September that includes the results from the science WASL. Only students who attended both days in a content area receive a score in that area. Students who miss a day must retake the test. The next retake opportunity will be in August.

Any member who won Champion or Reserve for a given division also earns an additional 10 or 6 points respectively. These bonus points are only displayed on the year-end points. Yes, we do. While most of the interns we accept are college-age or older, we have accepted several high school students to our program in the past. We do not, however, separate the high school applicants from the others during the selection process. High school students we've accepted in the past had already exhibited a deep commitment to women's equality and/or grassroots/political organizing, despite their young age.

Elective classes meet three periods per week and are required for graduation. These courses are assessed with number grades which are reflected on student report cards. Frequent assessments, homework and final exams are used to determine mastery in each class. Some of the courses will offer optional trips and/or projects to enrich the curriculum.
