In addition to annoying ads, the first site has all sorts of Muppet and Sesame Street songs, including Rainbow Connection, It's Not Easy Being Green, Just One Person, the theme from "The Muppet Show," and more. The second site, compiled by Tiny Dancer, has "Sesame Street" songs. Besides all the songs you'd expect (Rubber Duckie, "Sesame Street" theme), it has many Frequently Asked Lyrics: the Alligator King, Captain Vegetable, I Don't Want to Live on the Moon, We All Live In A Capital I, etc.

There are a number of sites that archive song sources. Many of these are dial-up sites, requiring the use of a modem. Note that the Beatles freely mixed dialects and languages here, and when this is combined with less than perfect enunciation and accent, many uncertainties arise, leading to many possible interpretations. Many lyrics are available in the book More Dark Than Shark. This is alas long out of print and even if findable a very expensive book, very tastefully illustrated by Russell Mills. But as you'd expect, the EnoWeb has lyrics a-plenty. Take a look.

Don't put your finger on the button' is an excerpt taken from a small British film made in the late 80's. It was a made-for-tv film a bit like 'Pennies from Heaven' or 'The Singing Detective'. It was not unlike a play made for tv. It was mostly some couples on a canal boat on holiday, you know, the BBC2 style films that are shown every now and then.

Based on Paul Leddy's 1993 interview, the band considers the voice to be another instrument. Francis said "...we didn't like the lyrics sent out to every one" and John said "We feel that our lyrics should be heard not read, that's why we don't give out lyrics or put them in the sleeves."

More Dark Than Shark says that Russell Mills could not make out the lyrics to 'Here Come The Warm Jets' (the song, not the album). Eno couldn't remember what they were, and they're mixed rather deeply underneath the song's other components. They're certainly inaudible on the vinyl pressing and the CD. But on the digitally remastered Eno Vocal Box Set, some words do come through, especially with the treble turned right up. See the HCTWJ lyrics file for various interpretations.

Have you looked at the book reviews for books that have translated lyrics for Middle Eastern songs? Have you looked at the other web sites I've linked to which offer song translations? Have you carefully looked at my lyrics menu, perhaps trying alternate song titles or spellings? If you've done all those things, and still not found the translation for the song you want, then I'm afraid I can't help you. You see, I don't speak Arabic, Turkish, Armenian, or Hebrew myself.
