Some wince at the thought of teak decks, but we opted for them because we just like them a lot. We actually are delighted with them. They are about the best non-skid surface available short of that mil-spec sandpaper you see on USCG and other commercial vessels. The decks are laid down with adhesive, not the traditional screw and bung process. Therefore, the problems with leaking that characterize teak decks sometimes just don't apply.

Affinity’s interior is designed to fulfill two goals: Privacy for each of two couples when cruising, and ample space and convenience for gear. The forward head and shower is private to the forward stateroom. The aft head is ideally located for use at sea, and can be used as a wet hanging locker, private head for the folks staying in the aft stateroom. It also has a shower.

Balustrades (or parapets) on decks can serve several functions, ranging from simple decorative boundaries to full safety barriers. Even a small change of level can be a hazard, particularly for elderly or infirm users. Unless the deck surface is flush with the surrounding ground level, a parapet or edge protection detail should be incorporated. For very low-level structures, this may take the form of a simple decorative rail, a trellis panel, a raised planter box, a bench or seat, etc.

Some products bead lots of water for a short period of time because they have lots of paraffin and carnuba wax in them. However, a lot of the best decking products have little or no wax in them, making them not bead. They sheath the water instead. (Beading water is just a chemical property of water on wax. It has no effects on the preservation qualities of the product.)
