Stenciled designs that are not crisp usually mean that you are overloading your brush. Loading your brush with too much paint is by far the most common mistake that is made by both beginners and pros. Dip the tips of the bristles of your brush into the paint. Using a paper towel remove most of the paint from the brush by swirling the brush into the paper towel.

Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) artwork downloaded or developed from this site is designed for PostScript printers and PostScript output devices. When printing to a NON-PostScipt printer, only the low resolution preview will be printed.

Blurry images are the result of uploading small pictures. Be sure your pictures are at least 300x225 for best results. If your pictures are larger than 300 (w) x225 (h), don't worry about it. Our system will automatically resize your large photos for optimal web presentation. Please note, we highly recommend using "landscape" images (short and wide - most common) and staying away from "portrait" style images (tall and thin). Portrait style images will have white space on the sides.

While you cannot edit the stock designs, you can have them sewn in whatever color(s) you prefer. In the Design Lab once you have chosen a graphic you will see a box with the graphic attributes and colors listed. Click on the drop down menu to the right of any attribute you wish to change and pick a new color. As soon as you do your graphic will update and show you the graphic with your new color preference.

Check the screen settings for your computer's monitor. This problem is usually caused by the screen settings being set to a font size other than small. If you change to the small font size for your screen settings, the problem should go away.

Most stencil paints available today have proven to be very washable and durable and under normal use do not need extra protection. However, if your stenciled designs are exposed to excess traffic, wear and tear (kitchens or children's rooms) or the outdoor elements, we recommend that you use a more durable paint such as Plaid's Durable Colors or DecoArt's Patio Paint for these areas.

If you're using America Online, you probably have image compression turned on. Although this makes the photos download faster, it drastically reduces their quality. Consult the America Online instructions and turn off image compression to see the photos at full sharpness. (If these words look blurry also, consider buying a new monitor or consulting an eye doctor.)

Blurry images are generally due to one or all of the following three causes. The subject was not in focus, the camera was moving at the time of the exposure, the image was captured at too low a resolution. Out of focus images are by far the biggest problem with most of the images we see on the internet, we strongly urge you to learn to focus your camera. It will probably require you to dig out and spend some time with your camera's user manual.

Depending on the size of the original document, some of the thumbnails are less than 1% of the size of the original. This extreme condensation of information is difficult to do with perfect clarity. The role of the thumbnail is to help you figure out if a particular map is the one you are looking for.

We use a high resolution 19 inch LCD monitor on the ClassiCade Cocktail, and a 21" LCD on the ClassiCade Upright and CrystalCade. Since monitor technology has improved substantially in the recent years, the games look better than they did in the 80's! You will notice the games look sharper.

Unless your camera is cheap junk, it will have a focus ring around the lens. Try turning it (don't turn too hard, or you might break the lens assembly). Also, make sure the lens is clean. Use compressed air to remove dust, and a damp cloth for fingerprints. Be careful not to scratch it!

The thickness lever may be incorrectly set. Make sure that the thickness lever is set to 0 for regular paper and + for envelopes or thicker media. Make sure the paper is not damp. Verify that the printable side of the paper is face up, and check the type of paper being used. EPSON brand paper, which is specifically designed for the Stylus ink jet series of printers, delivers the best printed output. For those media which require a support sheet, you can also try loading one sheet at a time.

Check the format of the font. To clearly display and print PostScript Type 1 fonts in Windows Me/98/95 or the Mac OS at all sizes, you must have Adobe Type Manager installed. To install PostScript Type 1 fonts in Windows Me/98/95, Windows NT, or Mac OS, you need to use Adobe Type Manager (ATM), ATM Deluxe, or ATM Light. You can download ATM Light free from the Adobe website.

Occasionally, noise on the line can cause faxes to appear blurred or distorted, since noise interferes with the stream of fax data being transmitted. Vertical lines down the side of the page usually indicate dirt on the scanner of the sending fax machine. However, if many of your faxes from different senders are appearing with unusual distortions or lines, please contact Faxxis Customer Support and include the reference number of the fax(es) in question and a description of the problem.
