The first thing you do is to log feedback, pointing out that you are one of thousands of thousands of users who have problems with this, because Apple does not provide proper feedback in the user interface. The special effects that can be produced depend on the capabilities of the terminal. If your terminal supports the control sequences, you will be able to see messages highlighted/underlined/bold. We hope to make a prototype of a Bold weight (and a few others, including italic) available soon, but it will only cover basic Latin glyphs at first.
