The Graduate School requires an official copy of your GRE score from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). ETS does not keep scores that are 5 years old or older. If the ETS cannot send an official copy of your test score, then you will need to retake the GRE.

Consistent with the policy of the Educational Testing Service, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores taken more than 5 years prior to the date of application to the School of Education will not be accepted.

Because it takes up to 6 weeks for the department to receive GRE scores from the testing centers, you should FAX a copy of your test results to the department as soon as you receive them. (Please note that many times we do not receive the testing center copies. Therefore, all applicants are required to send copies of their scores to the department.) The GRE exam can be taken any time by computer testing.

This will depend on the score received, coupled with your GPA, experience and how long ago the GMAT was taken. There have been many changes to the GMAT in recent years and you may be asked to take the exam a second time. The College of Management considers an acceptable GMAT score to be 550. If your score IS LOW your application will still be considered.

Both of these questions have the same answer. We can tell prospective students whether or not their scores have arrived, and that is the only information we can release. In order to protect your privacy, we cannot divulge test scores over the phone because we cannot verify the identity of the caller.

Prerequisite work is evaluated on an individual basis. In some cases, a candidate may be asked to repeat courses taken more than five years prior to application. The critical task that is associated with the class or section of the ePortfolio should be linked to the appropriate page in your ePortfolio. The fact that it has already been graded in hardcopy simply means that you will not have to send that assignment for assessment.

If you are a practicing registered nurse, you will receive transfer credit for previous academic achievements. For students entering into the initial licensure for becoming a registered nurse, the anatomy and physiology courses must have been completed within the last five years.

Your undergraduate degree may have been completed at any time. However, prerequisite courses are to have been completed within the last 10 years. Prerequisite coursework that is greater than 10 years old, may need to be repeated, especially the science courses. If you fail a CLEP exam, you have to wait six months before you can retake that exam. You may continue with your studying and work on another exam while you wait to retake that exam. If you fail it a second time, you only have to wait 60 days to take it again. If you fail an Excelsior exam, you have to wait 60 days to retake it. You can repeat an Excelsior exam a total five times. You may only take it three times in one year.

Eligibilities are valid for a period of 1 year from the date that the State approves your application. You may take this examination an unlimited number of times during this 1-year period.
