Our reclaimed teak furniture is quite smooth to feel and does not have a very rustic appearance, as we aim to produce modern looking furniture from environmentally responsible raw materials. Note: if you do require a more rustic finish this is also possible at no extra cost; just ask us at the time of ordering.

Treating with teak oil or other preservatives is not necessary; it will not extend the life of your furniture and is purely cosmetic. We do not recommend oiling your furniture as it creates unnecessary maintenance. However, if you wish to preserve the 'just bought' look of your furniture you should apply teak oil or wood stain when the furniture is new. Follow the manufacturer's recommended application, taking care with oil-soaked rags as they are highly combustible.

Teak is a natural product, it can be left out in the open all year round through rain, hail or shine. Its color will gradually mellow to a graceful silver grey. The character of your furniture will alter, but its strength will remain. An occasional scrub down with hot soapy water will compliment this process and discourage any moss growth.

Our teak garden furniture starts already oiled. In its oiled state teak is a beautiful caramel color almost iridescent depending on how the sun hits it. If you wish to maintain the teak with this caramel color then you will need to oil it approximately once a month or more or less depending on how much exposure to the elements its gets. In order to oil the furniture you will first need to wash it with a mild soap and water bath. Once the furniture has dried you may then oil the furniture.
