Yes. It would be extremely difficult for a bioterrorist to contaminate our drinking water supplies to cause widespread illness. Huge amounts of water are pumped daily from our reservoirs, most of which is used for industrial and other purposes. Anything deliberately put into the water supply would be greatly diluted. Poisoning water supplies would require truckloads of biological or chemical agents that are difficult to produce and relatively easy to detect.

Different treatment is used depending on the source of your water. Ground water taken from wells has been filtered through rocks, so it is usually quite free of particles. It can still contain chemicals and organic matter that must be taken out, though. Yes. Many tests have shown that the amount of chlorine found in treated water is safe to drink. Chlorine is needed to maintain disinfection throughout the distribution system. The potential of water contaminations without a chlorine additive outweighs the chlorine concerns. No. Rock Harbor and Windigo both have potable water. Beside there, all surface lake and stream water should be considered contaminated with natural parasites. Water needs to be purified or, passed through a 0.4 micron or less water filter. It can also be boiled but, should be at a rolling boil for at least 3 minutes which requires fuel, time and doesn't taste too good. The cold water supply for the Kasbah comes from a spring. This has been tested and the analysis is displayed on the notice board in the reception area. The water analysis shows that this supply is drinkable. As a further precaution all of the water in the kitchen, both in the main Kasbah and Garden House, flows through a UV filter and is used in the water jugs that we put on the tables at meal time. While the contamination of water is possible, it is highly unlikely and would vary by location in relation to the plume of mustard agent. It would be extremely rare that your water would be affected, but to be overly safe please use caution when using water if you are in the plume path.
