The original idea behind the 'Cogs Can Think.' name was that this blog was supposed to chronicle my struggle to find how the world works (you know, cogs moving a clock). Or whatever. Now it's just the name of my blog, it stuck, and it won't change.

A "Cog" is the name given to a member of the team of BoyChat Moderators responsible for monitoring the board. BC has always had a webmaster (the present webmaster is the tenth in BC's history) but BC grew so fast and became so successful that in the autumn of 1999, the existing Webmaster at the time decided that monitoring BC had become far too much of a job for one individual. He asked a group of veteran posters whom he trusted to help him in managing BC and labelled them "cogs".

Cogs are chosen from among the posters and are typically veteran posters well known to the entire posting community. They have displayed good posting judgment, respected the rules, and earned the trust of the current cogs and administration. When necessary, posters who meet the criteria are nominated by current Cogs, voted on, and offered the position if they pass the vote.

HEROES III is a turn-based strategy game, set up in a classical role-playing game Environment. It involves capturing and developing towns, gathering resources, assembling armies and sending them into combat. Each town (see section 3 for details) has a theme and can only raise the type of creatures appropriate to that theme. The resources (gold, wood, ore, gems, crystal, mercury, and sulfur) can be found mostly in mines and are gathered once a day.

Don't use trade cogs because they're easily dismissed by enemy ships. Carts however, are useful much later in the game when all of the gold is mined.

This stands for "Cost of Goods Sold" and is where you enter the price you paid for an item you retailed. For example, if you paid $20 wholesale for a product and then retailed it for $30. You would enter the $30 amount in the "Retail" line and the $20 amount in the COGS line. The difference is the Net Revenue from that sale. If you not have products to "retail" directly to customers then the Retail and COGS lines can be left blank.

Cog n. A subordinate member of an organization who performs necessary but usually minor or routine functions.

Whenever you log onto a site, that site logs your IP address automatically. However, IP addresses cannot be seen by anyone outside the server a site is on without a court order. On BoyChat, users' IP addresses are masked in the Cogs' tools, so most Cogs cannot see your IP address. A Security Team that consists of a few cogs and other FSC designates (see question 30 below), can see server logs, and therefore posters' IP addresses.

The prostate is part of male sexual anatomy. It is a walnut-sized gland which surrounds part of the urethra (the "tube" that carries urine from the bladder to the penis). The prostate is located approximately 2 inches inward from the anus. The prostate is made up of many small glands which are connected together like small bunches of grapes. There are somewhere between 20 and 60 of these bunches called acini in the prostate. Each bunch connects to the urethra.

Clinical studies that test new drugs, drug combinations and treatments on people are divided into four basic phases - Phase I, II, III, or IV. Despite the high cost, it is not necessary to be rich to pay for cryonics.
