First you need a DVD movie which you can share. Note that the movie can't be bigger than 4.3GB. If you want to compress the movie you can read alot of tutorials on Doom9.org. Put the movie in a directory which as the movie name, for example X:\Big_Fish or X:\Big_Fish\VIDEO_TS. Download MakeTorrent (its free}, install and run it. Browse to your files and select the files in the directory (from step 2), put this adress in the tracker window: http://www.acetorrents.net/announce.

If you are the first seeder of a new torrent, make sure you dedicate as much bandwith as possible to upload this torrent. The bandwith for a new torrent should be at least 20kb/s, the more the better of course. Stop other uploads if needed. Especially when uploading big torrent, make sure you have enough bandwidth to seed at least one full copy in a decent time. It does not make sens to seed a 1GB file on a 56k connection as it would take forever to spread the file!

When I try to download a .torrent file, why does my Macintosh get a file named "www.dimeadozen.org" instead? Then my client won't open it, because its name doesn't end in ".torrent".

Check the placement of the shared files. They must be in bt-clent's incoming folder with all other downloaded files.

First, create the .torrent file in you favourite client. Consult the client's manual in case of questions/problems. Read the Upload-Guide. Then browse the "Upload" page (menu on top of the page) select category, upload pictures and then select the .torrent file to upload. Specify some basic information like the name to be displayed and a comment. Then click on upload.

If for some reason (e.g. pc crash or a frozen client) your client exits improperly and you restart it, it will have a new peer_id, so it will show as a new torrent. The old one will never receive a "event=completed"or "event=stopped" and will be listed until some tracker timeout. Just ignore it, it will eventually go away.

A: Not hard at all. When you're editing a room, simply hit the "V" key to change the vision. Any sprites added to this vision will ONLY show up if the vision in Dink matches this vision numbers. Yes! In keeping with the nature of this Archive, it is appropriate for multiple sources of the same show to be available for download. When you upload the new source, be sure to name the source in the show's top level folder to avoid confusion. Some bands do place limits on the types of sources allowed (such as soundboard recordings), so please check the policy for any given band.

Install it and create a "root" folder for the torrent. Ex. For the US Festival 3CD boot posted on the board, the root folder is titled "3CD US Festival." Click "Browse" next to the filename field (sometimes the button is cut off, but you can still click it...it's to the right), and select the root folder that you created.

When a file is first released, no one will have any parts of the file. The user that created the torrent (or someone else that has the complete file) will seed the file by running their bit torrent client, "downloading" to the location of the complete file. They are added to the tracker's list, and all the clients start to download from the seeder.

To help clarify, when you upload a .torrent file to this site you need to re-download that same .torrent file. Why you ask? Well because this is a private tracker and your new upload will be tagged with your own personal "Pass key". We allow uploads without speed restrictions. In fact, some of our users can upload files at over 400 Kilobytes a second! However, if you are connected with a typical broadband connection you should get around 20 KB per second for send/upload speed. When you select the Enable checkbox or click the Ftp button it will initiate ftp upload to your web site. There you should have your webpage with the webcam image link. Select the 'FTP Upload > Advanced > Passive mode' checkbox if your client is behind a firewall. Active FTP may cause problems. From the firewall's point of view, the FTP server that is trying to initiate a connection with your client looks like an intruder and is usually blocked.
