Components and complete kits are available to connect the output from an ABV to throttle bodies. More information is available on a specific instruction sheet .

Jenvey bodies can generally be used with boosts up to 6 bar, although we recommend that you contact our technical department if boost of more than 2.5 bar or temperatures above 150ºC are expected since some models require special treatment for high pressures and/or temperatures.

We use a relatively popular mechanical interface for the throttle potentiometer. See the layout drawing for dimension details. Popular types are; Covern CP17 series (as supplied by Jenvey), Spectrol and (via an adapter ) Weber. A number of production car throttle pots (e.g. Rover K series) will also fit directly to the bodies. The throttle potentiometer may be mounted to either end of most installations and rotation is typically 82 degrees.

A standard air bypass valve should be used on all supercharged applications where the supercharger is making more than 6 psi. The advantages of using an air bypass valve include eliminating compressor surge (the noise heard during deceleration) for quieter supercharger operation, and reduced heat soak in the discharge tube and the supercharger.

The best kept secret in forced induction is the little known bypass valve. This small valve, when properly installed between the supercharger and the air throttle body, allows the supercharger to become extremely efficient in terms of economy and parasitic power loss. Our M90 supercharger uses less than 1/3 of 1 HP at 60 MPH cruising. The bypass is operated by a vacuum actuator control unit that is normally closed.

There are a variety of aftermarket kits and components available that claim significant benefits when installed on the Allison transmission in pickup trucks. Allison does not endorse or recommend any of these components. Allison has tested one company's 'high performance' valve body, which claims to increase clutch capacity. Allison Engineering determined that this valve body provided none of the advertised benefits.

A: AEM's patented air bypass valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock in the unlikely event the filter of your AEM Cold Air induction system becomes submerged in water. The valve installs along the upper portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it becomes submerged, rerouting air through its external diaphragm to keep water out and air flowing in.

The EGR re-routes some of the exhaust gases back into the intake/combustion chamber. This is basically done to reduce emissions. Blocking it off will reduce the temperature of the intake since the gases fed back through the EGR are very hot. Lower intake temperature produces more power, but the amount of gases that are passed through the EGR is VERY minimal and probably won't result in much (if any) performance gain. The drawback is increased emissions.

It is a butterfly valve like the one in the throttle body (see picture). The default is closed. When vacuum is high (idle-cruising) an actuator opens the bypass valve so that intake air bypasses the compressor. When accelerating, vacuum decreases and the bypass valve instantly closes. Intake air now goes through the compressor, building boost. More power means more fuel means larger injectors. However, in order to pass CARB, the base kit had to use the stock injectors.

Warranty on the Allison 1000 Series™ in GM pickups is administered by the Chevrolet or GMC divisions of GM, not directly by the Allison division of GM. Please consult your GM dealer regarding questions about warranty coverage.

The Bypass valve (BPV) performs the same function as the BOV above. The only difference is the air is recirculated back into the intake tract in front of the turbo, not released to the atmosphere. In the event of the CAI filter being completely submerged in water (eg: deep puddle) this gives the CAI a seperate "bypass" area to draw air into the engine, without taking in water to the engine - resulting in hydrolock (your engine is pooched due to ingesting water). Cheap insurance for CAI.

Air valve leaking is a sign of a worn out air valve or a worn out cylinder that has air blowing by seal on the piston. Replace worn devices as needed and test.

We recommend a speaker cabinet is connected to Marshall Amplifiers at all times. Failure to do this can and will cause damage to your amplifier. The vent on the top of your unit is part of the ventilation to keep the valves running at the correct temperature; the top and back grill must have a good air flow at all times as is if it is restricted this can and will cause damage.

Rate yourself 1-5 on technical confidence in yourself. 1 being "I can't paint by numbers" and 5 being "I can probably build a car from scratch if I have the right documentation, and I'm resourceful enough to do some research and find some of my own answers.

Exit the Interwise Participant application, go to your Start Menu - Programs - Interwise - Interwise Participant Options and click on the Tunnel Tab. Change the Tunnel Type to 'Full'. Attempt to reconnect to your event. Exit the Interwise Participant application, go to your Start Menu - Programs - Interwise - Interwise Participant Options. and click on the Tunnel Tab. Select 'Manual Proxy Settings' and input the proxy server address and the port number.

A Blow Off Valve (BOV) is a valve that is mounted on the intake pipe after the turbo but before the throttle body. A BOV's purpose is to prevent compressor surge. When the throttle valve is closed, the vacuum generated in the intake manifold acts on the actuator to open the valve, venting boost pressure in order to keep the compressor out of surge. Bypass valves are also referred to as compressor bypass valves, anti-surge valves, or recirculating valves.

The beaded part of the MAS adapter needs to be cut off. This removes about a half inch of material from the adapter. If you purchased your bypass valve while ordering the AEM intake from RRE, this has already been done to your MAS adapter (they cut it for you). The adapter itself can cover up to half of the bypass valve without effecting it's function. If more of it is covered up, it is not guaranteed to work when needed.
