Having an uncoventional rig will limit your opportunities, especially in commercial RV parks. However, there are plenty of other opportunities for Workampers in which the type of RV does not matter. Even if you are interested only in RV parks, not all owners and managers are closed-minded on this subject. Also, in some cases, housing, usually an apartment, cabin or mobile home, is provided.

Tents can be put up on cabin sites as long as there are no more than 6 people maximum (regardless of age) on the site. Any tents that are put up on any site other than a designated tent site must be secured with PLASTIC stakes only, due to the electric and propane lines underground. Tents are NOT allowed on cottage sites.

Our 10’ x 10’ “pop up” tents can be installed by our customers. The rest of our frame and tension tents need to be installed by our professional installation crews who are trained to safely and securely set our tents in most locations.

Sonoma County ordinances generally do not allow occupancy of a travel trailer on private property unless it is located in a mobile home park or, for limited time periods, in a recreational vehicle park. However, a travel trailer can be used while a home is under construction on the property, provided that a permit is obtained (see next question).

Our trailers are designed to be able to be set up by one person if necessary. It may just take a little more time. The main tent can be set up in just a few minutes and the awning takes between 10-20 minutes depending on what type of ground you are setting up on. All our campers come with a tilt floor on gas struts which will give you access to inside the trailer when set up or packed away.

So far, the Parks Department has allowed cars and trucks with small trailers (12ft. or less) into the tent camping area. Trailers longer than 12 ft., up to 20 ft. may be parked in one of the free trailer drops, or in an RV reserved space. Vehicles towing a trailer with a 5th wheel hitch over 7' 6" are now entitled to a discounted rate on Thruway tolls. Customers who tow these types of trailers, campers or boats (fifth-wheels or gooseneck) are eligible to receive a special tag which also allows them to use a dedicated E-ZPass lane. The tags will be programmed specifically for the tow vehicle and trailer combination.

The Treeboat requires two to four very strong anchor points that have a minimum of 3 feet clearance below. Nature provides these in abundance in trees, and sometimes in rock. If you are camping above the tree line, such anchor points will be scarce. The pull force on Treeboat's lines can quickly climb to 1000 lbs, so your hiking poles will fail. Our Rainfly and Tent are designed to mount on the Treeboat after it is set up above the ground.
