Ok, we'll confess. We really don't have as much time to actively work with the stones as we'd like. Most frequently we sit with them while watching television or reading. If they are small they'll ride around in our bras. We frequently sleep with our rocks too. We don't usually take the time to purposefully meditate with the crystals, although this is a perfectly viable way to work with them, and recommended. For the most part, they understand, and do what they can for us.

Crystals are stones that emanate from within Mother Earth & on the very surface are wonderful in the rough form & beautiful when cleansed & polished.

This is a big question to which I have several answers each a little deeper than the last, enjoy and please come back until you understand them. Like all true healers through the ages, including the father of orthodox medicine Hippocrates, I believe that the seed of disease is not a physical thing. Disease is the physical body's reaction to a lack of balance in one or more of the aspects of a human being. The most commonly recognized of these are, the Spiritual, Mental and Emotional levels.

A few years ago my friend, James Hughes, who had also begun teaches me about the uses of subtle energies, suggested putting a couple of crystals in the zapper. The increased efficiency and pleasant feeling that resulted was apparent to many people. James later suggested coloring the crystals red and purple, which made the zapper work even better. There isn't an explanation for this in conventional terms, but the effects are real.

The six-fold symmetry of a snow crystal ultimately derives from the hexagonal geometry of the ice crystal lattice. But the lattice has molecular dimensions, so it's not trivial how this nano-scale symmetry is transferred to the structure of a large snow crystal. The way it works is through faceting. No long-range forces are necessary to form facets; they appear simply because of how the molecules hook up locally in the lattice (see Crystal Faceting for how this works).

Not many people are thinking about why snow crystals look like they do, and most of them are meteorologists looking at how snow crystal formation affects the properties of cold clouds. Sometimes precipitation or crystallization may appear in a product. This can occur with products that are close to saturation and have gotten cold. If this happens, the solution should be warmed to room temperature and then the sealed ampule should be sonicated for approximately fifteen minutes. Invert the ampule several times and allow the sample to return to room temperature. The standard is now ready for use.

To see why snowflakes look like they do, consider the life history of a single snow crystal, as shown in the diagram at right. (Click on the picture for a larger view.) The story begins up in a cloud, when a minute cloud droplet first freezes into a tiny particle of ice. As water vapor starts condensing on its surface, the ice particle quickly develops facets, thus becoming a small hexagonal prism. For a while it keeps this simple faceted shape as it grows.
