A VCD disc looks the same as a CD or CDG but when played in a VCD player you will see on-screen lyrics and a background video. VCDs will not play in a CDG player and CDGs will not play in a VCD player. Some machines that we carry will play both CDGs and VCDs.

A VCD (Video CD) has about 1/6th the capacity of a DVD. Decent looking video files are very large, therefore require the larger capacity of a DVD. When a movie is put onto a VCD, the large files are compressed so much in order to fit, that the picture quality is sacrificed.
