This is especially true if you desire a converter/descrambler that cannot be altered or addressed by your cable company.

The Swann Black Knight Camera receiver comes with an AV cable which plugs into the Video and Audio connectors on your TV or VCR. These plugs are commonly referred to as RCA plugs and are similar to the connectors used by game consoles and DVD players. If you plug your Swann Black Knight Camera's receiver into your VCR so that you can record the footage, you will need to select the AV channel on your VCR and then the channel on your TV that you normally use to watch video movies from your VCR.

For video, use the S-Video connection. If your VCR does not have S-Video, use the composite video connection. For audio, use a pair of stereo audio interconnects to connect the analog stereo audio output (RCA jacks) from the back panel of the VCR to the corresponding audio input for the set of video inputs used (e.g., "Video 3"). Yes, ViaTV is compatible with all other video accessories. The user manual supplied with the ViaTV Videophone provides complete instructions for connecting it with both VCRs and cable converters. You can not use a Desktop Videophone with a TV or a VCR.

Long answer: The minimum requirement for reproducing audio and video on DVD is an MPEG video stream and a PCM audio track. (Other streams such as Dolby Digital audio, MPEG audio, and subpicture are not necessary for the simplest case.) Basic DVD control codes are also needed. At the moment it's difficult in real time to encode the video and audio, combine them with DVD-V info, and write the whole thing to DVD. Even if you could do all this in a home recorder, it would be extremely expensive.

Everyone wants these to be TV's, but in most instances they are actually more closely related to the VCR. In a lot of models the only remote control that will satisfactorily work combo sets is the manufacturers original. The DCT6412 does not have an RF modulated output. The product was designed to match the growing trend in newer TVs for alternate inputs. The product supports component (HD), composite, S-Video, DVI, and 1394 video outputs. For installations to TVs that have only an RF input, a VCR hookup or external RF Modulator can be used. The RF modulator converts the baseband (composite) video and audio outputs of the set-top and modulates to RF channel 3 or 4 to the TV.

It's generally not a good idea to route the video from your DVD player through your VCR. Most movies use Macrovision protection, which will cause problems such as a repeated darkening and lightening of the picture. See 1.11 and the Video RF section of 3.2 and for more info.

Simply connect your coaxial cable into the HUSKYvision faceplate (the faceplate with only one coax connection) and the input jack on your cable-ready TV or VCR.
