Instructions about training the Outlook plugin can be found in the documentation for the plugin, and the 'Configuration Wizard' will attempt to guide you through an initial training process. Basically what you need to do is move as much spam as you have into your spam folder, tell the plugin which folder that is and which folders contain examples of ham, and it will do the rest. The plugin does not train on all incoming mail.

To our knowledge, the current version of the plug-in should work with Windows 98 and above and Outlook 2000 or above. You may be able to get the plug-in to work with Windows 95 if you install the most recent version of Internet Explorer possible, but we are not certain about this. The troubleshooting guide for the Outlook plugin contains the most up-to-date help for working around known problems.

You can also download Symantec Brightmail plugin for Outlook 2003 to identify spam. With a click of the button the email message that you identify as spam will be sent to Symantec. For all other desktop email clients, you must attach the original missed SPAM with the original SMTP headers. Please see the Help menu of your email client.

The Confimax plugin supports Outlook 2000 and newer. For Outlook 2000, the Confimax plugin allows you to include the Confimax button if you are checking one email account through Outlook, while newer versions can check an unlimited number of email accounts.

To uninstall, just access Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, select the plugin, click 'Add/Remove' and follow the uninstallation screens.

The Webmail feature is somewhat large (10MB) and not everyone wants Webmail, so it was decided to package the ISMail-Web plugin as a separate file. That way, the ISMail Pro program can be kept as small as possible.

Note: this plugin will also work with ISMail, however, the features described for ISMail Pro-Web will NOT be available with the standard version of ISMail.

If you don't want to use the plugin installer (or if your selected plugin doesn't come with one) manual installation is easy. Brass plugins are DLL files, and usually come with some config files and bitmap images. Simply copy the DLL to the Plugins directory in the Brass installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\Brass), then copy any other files that came with the DLL to Plugins/DLLName directory. So if your plugin is called AcmeGlue you would copy AcmeGlue.

We do already have a number of plugins installed (including custom ECS-only ones) to support the game play. We currently don't feel like adding more, but you are free to write a personal message to an administrator with your suggestions. We will however not install any fun-plugins.

Go to the Java Upgrade Instructions page and select the Windows or Mac operating system. Follow instructions for upgrading the Java plugin. Note that if you want to upgrade to a newer Java version, you must first remove the existing plugin and then reinstall the upgraded version.

Below the list of deactivated plugins you will find a list of "broken plugins". Broken plugins are subdirectories inside your plugin directory that do not contain any plugin files. If a plugin shows up on that list after it has been installed, this means that the plugin cannot be installed by PlugInstaller. You may safely delete the broken plugin by selecting the "delete" link behind the directory name.

Copy the plugin's jar archive file (or files, if there are more than one) to the /jars subdirectory of either (a) the directory in which jEdit is installed, or (b) your user settings directory (which you can find by evaluating the BeanShell expression jEdit.getSettingsDirectory().
