You cannot copy and paste from Word to HTML. If your document contains tabular material be sure it's been created in actual table format (i.e., "Insert table" from the "Table" menu bar) and has not been formatted by spacing across the page. A Word document cannot be used for the body of an email. To use special formatting for text, HTML is the only solution. To convert a Word document to text, first select all text by pressing Ctrl+A, press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard, then go to Gammadyne Mailer and paste the clipboard into the Text Body by pressing Ctrl+V. There used to be a template that shipped with Word 2.0 that had WP keyboard equivalents. You could try to find this template off a set of Word 2.0 disks. Word 6.0 and 7.0 implement a WordPerfect help feature that would show the user the menu/keyboard equivalent. The idea being, to convert the user and not to have perpetuate WordPerfect's keyboard commands. Adobe Acrobat can be used to convert any document to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). In most programs, you can use the "Print" command and choose "Adobe PDF" as the printer to use. This does not print out the document, but rather causes it to be converted into a PDF. There is a related program called "Acrobat Distiller" which can make more complex PDFs such as encrypted PDFs. When LAS prints to the various word processor programs, it creates an RTF (Rich Text File) document formatted specifically for the selected word processor. However, when the file is opened, whichever program is "associated" with ".RTF" files will be the one to actually open the file. The software is designed to convert ASCII text into HTML. That is plain, unformatted documents. Word and other wp packages use binary formats that contain formatting codes embedded in the text (or in some cases the text is embedded in the codes :-). Even RTF, which is a text file, is so heavily full of formatting information that it could not be perceived as normal text (look at it in Notepad and you'll soon see what I mean). Copying and pasting of Chinese text between Wenlin and various other programs, such as word processors, is possible. The other programs do need to have their own capability of displaying Chinese. Copying and pasting works best if the other programs support Unicode, as appears to be the case with at least some recent versions of Microsoft Word.
